Helimedia reaches new heights with AJA Ki Pro Quad Helimedia cuenta con un experto equipo de profesionales y numeroso equipamiento para sus impresionantes grabaciones a reas entre el que destacan dos grabadores digitales AJA Ki Pro y el reci n estrenado AJA Ki Pro Quad.
Fundada en 2007 en Ciudad del Cabo por el director de fotograf a, ganador de un Emmy Award, Skip Margetts, Helimedia es una compa a de producci n especializada en rodajes a reos. Para satisfacer la demanda de trabajas en Sud frica por parte de productoras de cine, televisi n o publicidad, Helimedia cuenta con un experto equipo de profesionales y numeroso equipamiento entre el que destacan dos grabadores digitales AJA Ki Pro y el reci n estrenado AJA Ki Pro Quad con soporte para flujos de trabajo 4:4:4 HD/2K y UHD/4K.
Helimedia primero comenz a usar Ki Pro en 2010, ya que se convirti en la primera empresa en ofrecer servicios de filmaci n a rea para la Copa Mundial de F tbol en Sud frica. Gracias dos Ki Pro, Margetts y su equipo registraron im genes de sobrevolando los estadios en Apple ProRes 422. Desde el momento en que compramos los Ki Pro, yo estaba enamorado de ellos. Nos permitieron disponer de im genes y distribuirlas a todo el mundo casi al instante a todo el mundo, algo que nunca hab amos podido hacer antes. Son fenomenales y han revolucionado nuestro plan de rodaje , ha asegurado Skip Margetts.
En los siguientes a os, con la evoluci n tecnol gica, Margetts apost por un flujo de trabajo ProRes 444 como una progresi n natural y comenz la b squeda de una grabadora compatible. Cuando vi a un prototipo de Ki Pro Quad, quer a uno, a pesar de que a n no estaba disponible en NAB 2012 y de que exist an otras grabadoras 4:4:4 en el mercado. Sab a que iba a valer la pena la espera, y no me equivoqu , sostiene.
El Pro Quad Ki es como mi Amex, yo no voy a ninguna parte sin l. Incluso si estamos rodando 422 en nuestros Ki Pros , siempre tengo el Ki Pro Quad como respaldo para doble redundancia. Es un dispositivo flexible y la calidad de las im genes es siempre excelente. Cuando est s sobrevolando siempre hay una preocupaci n y es quedarse sin espacio en el disco. Esto queda ahora solucionado , admite Margetts.
Workflow
Helimedia cuenta con un sistema de cinematograf a giroestabilizada Cineflex que se utiliza para capturar im genes para todos los proyectos. En el propio helic ptero viajan la lente, el giroscopio y el bloque de CCD, as como dentro del aparato, vuela una c mara auxiliar Sony HDC 1500. En los proyectos de producci n en vivo, Helimedia utiliza un cable de enlace simple con se al HD-SDI en el Ki Pro Quad, grabada en ProRes 422 y enviada a un monitor HD Panasonic.
Helimedia aplica un flujo de trabajo similar para proyectos comerciales y cinematogr ficos, excepto que aprovecha una se al HD-SDI dual-link en el Pro Quad Ki para grabar im genes en ProRes 444. Una vez que el helic ptero ha aterrizado, el equipo retira las unidades AJA Pack del Ki Pro Quad y con ayuda de un DIT con AJA Pack Dock y a trav s de Thunderbolt, se llevan a cabo las copias requeridas y se env a el material a los equipos editoriales.
La pantalla integrada LCD en el Ki Pro Quad ha permitido a Margetts seguir mejor las im genes, con rebobinado y avance durante el propio vuelo. Es fant stico y muy til poder ver las im genes en el Quad. Sin peligro de destruir nuestro master, podemos rebobinar y asegurarnos de que todo est all , as que cuando aterricemos , s que nuestro material est totalmente seguro en las unidades Pak. Son tan buenas que usted nunca tenemos que preocuparnos de fallo alguno , reconoce Margetts.
Con AJA, la tecnolog a funciona cuando se necesita en todo momento. Si el Pro Quad Ki est grabando, siempre sabes que est grabando y que no tendr s un problema despu s. Eso es invaluable. Puedo dormir seguro, ya que nunca tengo que preocuparme de despertarme con una llamada que me informe de un problema con los dispositivos , sostiene.
En los pr ximos meses, Helimedia planea iniciar proyectos en 4K y el Ki Pro Quad seguir desempe ando un papel integral en sus producciones. La tecnolog a de AJA siempre parece estar a a os luz. Ki Pro Quad nos da tantas opciones ahora, mucho m s de lo que podemos poner en pr ctica con nuestra l nea existente, pero tambi n nos da la flexibilidad para trabajar en 4K cuando queramos. Es una verdadera soluci n a prueba de futuro , se ala Margetts.
