TVU Networks adds audio mixing to remote production solution TVI Networks has added an audio mixing panel as a feature to its Cloud-based TVU Producer production solution.

According to the company, the panel's simple, browser-based UI, gives operators full control of all audio signals from their home. TVU's patented time synchronisation technology means the solution provides zero latency execution of production commands, as well as synchronisation between audio and video, while crews operate remotely and safely from their own locations.

Our new Audio Mixing Panel has been a highly requested feature of TVU Producer, which enables anyone to produce professional video without expensive equipment or training, said TVU Networks' CEO Paul Shen. The Audio Mixing Panel enables a crew to manage audio production from a separate location than video production. The mixing function is extremely easy to use and gives the audio operator full control over program audio.

TAG Video Systems supports CMAF streaming format TAG Video Systems has added support for the Common Media Application Format (CMAF), which it said will enable OTT customers to take advantage of more diverse platforms, simplified workflows, lower latency and reduced cost.

CMAF is the result of a collaboration between Microsoft and Apple, and is an open, extensible standard that enables efficient streaming over the HLS and MPEG-DASH protocols.

The company has also added support for Microsoft Smooth Streaming, a legacy hybrid media delivery method that acts like streaming but is based on HTTP progressive download.

Starfish granted international patents for switching solution Starfish Technologies has been granted European and US patents that cover a range of techniques employed within its TS splicer product.

The TS Splicer is a software-based solution for clean switching of encoded transport streams and is used for media switching and content replacement for advertising insertion and slating.

The benefits of these techniques enable the TS splicer to offer clean switching of encoded streams across different modes of operation. Our customers have long recognised the benefits in the performance of our product and we are delighted that this intellectual property is now formally protected.
