Sound Devices unveil the Astral Mini Plus

Popular compact wireless system upgraded

Sound Devices have recently introduced a new and improved version of their compact wireless transmitter bodypacks, delivering a handful of upgrades that will be welcomed by those working in location sound, live music and theatre. The Astral Mini Plus builds on the success of its predecessor by offering improved battery life, an extended RF tuning range and IP67 water resistance.

Upgrades The new Plus variant introduces a number of enhancements and improvements to the much-loved Astral Mini. First on the list is an extended battery life, with the new model delivering up to eight hours of operation on a single charge. The transmitter is powered by a XL-B14500 rechargeable cell, and now features a USB-C connector that can be used to top up its power during long show runs or events.

An extended 169-1525 MHz tuning range makes it possible to find clean, usable and legal frequency bandwidth anywhere in the world regardless of region, making the new system an ideal fit for international productions or worldwide live tours. Finally, the Astral Mini Plus boasts an IP67 water resistance rating, ensuring that the transmitter is now resistant to sweat, humidity and other sources of unexpected moisture, and delivering reliable operation and audio performance regardless of the weather.
