Former Isibaya actress Ayanda Borotho and Scandal! actor Patrick Mofokeng Generations: The Legacy joined the cast of Generations: The Legacy on Thursday 3 November as Luyolo's parents.

AYANDA BOROTHO AND SIYABONGA SHIBE: NEW ROLES TshisaLIVE reports actors Ayanda Borotho (n e Ngubane) and Siyabonga Shibe have joined Mzansi Wethu's first original telenovela, Sibongile and The Dlaminis.

The show revealed to the publication that the show will follow the journey of Sibongile Mbambo (played by Luyanda Zwane). Sibongile is an innocent rural young woman, who is forced to leave her family and dreams to become a domestic worker for the Dlaminis.

Shirley Adonisi, who is director of local entertainment channels at M-Net revealed in a statement that the airing of Sibongile and The Dlaminis will mark a significant milestone in their commitment to deliver diverse and compelling local content.

Sibongile and The Dlaminis is produced by Rhythm World Productions, which also produced the Komkhulu and Umkhokha.

The telenovela will premiere on 31 July at 6pm on Mzansi Wethu (DStv channel 163).

BACKGROUND OF SIBONGILE AND THE DLAMINIS' The Sibongile and The Dlaminis actors Ayanda Borotho and Siyabonga Shibe will reportedly play husband and wife in the new telenovela.

Kaya 959 reports that actress Luyanda Zwane's character Sibongile Mbambo, will have a surprising Cinderella-like tale awaiting her, and forbidden romance, when she joins The Dlaminis.

The show is set in the small town of Ixopo in KwaZulu-Natal and promises to explore timeless themes of love, sacrifice, ambition, and familial bonds.

Viewers can expect a hopeful, warm, authentic, and a real-world fairy tale, delivers superb entertainment.

The show also draws inspiration from the Zambian tale of Zuba and the Solalas and also stars Zodumo Shange, former The River star Vuyo Biyela and many more.
