Nominate now for showpiece TVBAwards

The Special Awards category has been expanded for this year's TVBAwards with the addition of two new honours. Nominations for the Special Awards, along with those in Live Production, Production and Post, Infrastructure, and TVBEverywhere are open until this Friday, 31 July and can be submitted via the TVBAwards website.

Last year the Outstanding Broadcast award was keenly contested, with a shortlist of nominated projects as diverse as Sochi Olympic and Paralympic coverage (Channel 4), the Vienna State Opera live streaming (Elemental Technologies), The Boat Race (CTV, in conjunction with Presteigne Broadcast Hire) and Natural History Museum Alive 3D (David Attenborough/Colossus Productions). If you have seen or been part of a live or recorded TV programme which demonstrated outstanding technical merit in all areas, submit your nominated broadcaster or partners responsible, for the TVBAwards 2015 now.

Returning to the TVBAwards this year, the Sustainability Award celebrates the company making the most significant contribution toward ensuring a liveable future, reducing the environmental impact of production, raising awareness of environmental issues or demonstrating notable work in the improvement of environmental and social conditions.

Nominations piled in last year for the PR, marketing and communications team Special Award. The award is available again this year, and nominations are open for either an individual or company that has shown innovation and individuality in the promotion and marketing of its clients in the media and entertainment sector.

Two new Special Awards have been added to roster for this year's event. The innovation and R&D award for outstanding technical achievement aims to recognise technical development in areas throughout the industry, from UHD and IPTV, to archiving and acquisition. Again there is the opportunity to nominate either an individual or a company.

Voting is open to all projects/programmes completed and aired during the 12 months from 1 August, 2014 to 31 July, 2015. The one exception to this rule is the second addition to the Special Awards: the new start-up/entrepreneur award, which has a scope of three years to ensure inclusivity for recently founded companies.

The black tie TVBAwards event takes place in London on Thursday 22 October, with a drinks reception, dinner, awards ceremony and after party.
