The Electronics Magazine, Elektroniktidningen, has nominated Anybus CompactCom for Product of the Year.

The Electronics Magazine, Elektroniktidningen, has nominated Anybus CompactCom for Product of the Year. The magazine is once a year selecting the most outstanding new electronic products from an engineering perspective. The new Anybus-CompactCom design has been selected as one of the most innovative and well designed products released during 2004!

The magazine writes:

Good looking modular communication module for Industrial applications

You are about to select what communication protocol your new industrial device should support, but what communication technology to select? There are over 10 different non-compatible communication systems on the market to select from.

The solution is to use a modular communication component. This is ?Anybus?. It?s a tiny, graphite grey module in size of a matchbox. It has a generic interface in one side and supports all kinds of different communication technologies at the other side, such as all the major Fieldbus protocols, several Industrial Ethernet protocols and also RS232, RS485, USB and wireless.

This product line is developed and manufactured by HMS Industrial Networks. This is not their first product line for these kinds of applications. ?This is our third generation Anybus products for embedded applications and we now added more technical capabilities and performance, at significant lower cost. In this development project we also spent a lot of efforts in the product design, its mechanics and how to minimize the cost and maximize the flexibility for our customers? says Staffan Dahlstrm, Marketing Manager of HMS.
