VDC Trading Limited, the London based company distributing the prestigious Van Damme cable brand, has again broadened the scope of its online ordering system, it now facilitates the ordering of data single leads and assemblies online. Already a great success for both the audio and video cable buyers, the online YouSpec system, see http://www.vdctrading.com/youspec, now allows web visitors to design, specify, price-up and order completely bespoke data cable solutions 24 hours a day, every day.
Cables available include 22 different Van Damme and standard network cables. These include Van Damme Tourcat F/UTP, U/UTP and SF/UTP tactical Cat 5E cables, Cat 5E solid conductor cables, screened and unscreened, Cat 5E U/UTP stranded patch cables in 6 colours and Cat 6 and Cat 6A standard network cables.
A whole range of connectors can also be specified including screened and unscreened RJ45 connectors, Neutrik Ethercon connectors, Neutrik Cat 6 Ethercon connectors and the Harting toolless 10G connector. Arange of RJ45 and Neutrik Ethercon boot colours are also available.
Plus, in a new development for the YouSpec system, you can now choose your own custom label and/or an 80mm piece of unshrunk clear heatshrink so that you can add your own labelling. This is a new feature currently only in Data Single Leads, but will soon be available for other YouSpec modules
So IT managers and engineers can specify RJ45 patch cords by colour and length and add custom labels to indicate critical circuits. Sound and Lighting Companies can choose the right Van Damme Tourcat cable for the application, add nickel or black shell Neutrik Ethercons and a company label. AV users can get exactly the right length Cat 6 RJ45 assembly/assemblies for installed HDMI/DVI over Cat cable interfaces. All online at the click of a mouse.
The YouSpec system is accessible from the desktop but is also designed to support mobile working via tablet computers, the site now features a separate Data gateway. Niall Holden, VDCs CEO said As with the audio cables, clients can now specify Van Damme data cable including the colour, the exact length, the connectors, the boots, the labelling and so on as required and we will manufacture their design and ship it directly to them. He continued, Or, the customer can save the design for review later as they spec out their next job.
Whilst the customer has the ultimate flexibility across a range of parameters YouSpec will not allow dangerous designs to be developed. However, if customers get stuck for an idea, the Head Space section of the website will offers details of VDCs technical expertise and capabilities and also the outline of some of the great solutions that have been built for other customers.
VDCs existing trade customers can also log-in and access their own account details and terms, purchase order history in addition to reviewing saved technical designs and solutions.
Overall, the VDC website offers industry professionals direct access to over 8,000 product lines. Each is supported by new product shots - not diagrams - to help customers choose exactly what they need, buy them quickly and securely and effectively click into the same great service from VDC in terms of turn-around times and delivery customers have always been used to.
Clients include blue chip corporations, production and broadcast companies, super-yacht builders and cruise-lines, government bodies, entertainment venues to PA hire companies and touring rock bands. The Van Damme range of elegant cable solutions has long been the professionals choice.
