Prison Journalism: Just Like That

Just like that, there arises another kind of chaos. My life behind bars was very much mellow and mild. Controlled! Especially the early years in the more intensive security lockup and monitor situations. However, the whole situation began heavy and almost unbearable. Then slowly but surely, things became more bearable.

Attacked From All Angles The angle from which one is attacked is so acute that the self-destruction one most dangerous and intense. The other angle comes from a wide angle. In the past, I have covered the troubles from our families and communities and the troubles within myself. However, at no time was I prepared for the madness that would consume me and mine. The feeling of hopelessness that consumes me can come near to overwhelming. By the time that feeling has subsided, so much damage has been done that any should've, could've, and might've remarks are now subsidiary. That's in the most relevant of circumstances, being the worst of them.

Choosing a Different Response No need to respond horridly. No need to go about being wicked with my reply to any kind of nastiness that may come my way, but it comes in droves. My duty is to make certain my side of the street is kept clean. Do not become aggressive nor simple in mind. I try to keep my behaviour in check as the reasons that we end up in the nick is one of behaviour. Then the result is as the pattern all becomes normal and then and ONLY then do I find myself dawning the realization and suffering for the misactions. Do I say misinformed actions? No, I say ill behaviour.
Joining Forces for Change I have had many crazy discussions and rants regarding the parole system and the fact that it doesn't work. However, as it stands, I am NOT being a part of the solution and that's what I wish to do. At this present moment (not real time), I am part of a group of ex-offenders, who have decided to pull together and do some research into. Where? What? Why? How? When?
