Huntsville, Alabama - April 14, 2016 - PESA, a leading designer and manufacturer of streaming solutions as well as professional audio and video distribution products, announced it is adopting the 12G-SDI chipset, developed and distributed by MACOM Technology Solutions Inc. (MACOM), which supports transmission of 4K/60p video utilizing a single 12Gbps link.
Increases in resolution require the transmission of larger volumes of data. The latest in the evolution of the SDI standard data rate, 12G-SDI is a core requirement for supporting 4K video resolutions at 60 frames per second. MACOM's 12G-SDI chipset is a material improvement over multiple 3G-SDI signals, enabling a user friendly, lower cost, lower power, and higher density solution that allows for breathtaking 4K resolution. Increasing demand for reliable 4K video management and distribution will allow PESA's wide customer base to capitalize on the current technology and provide 4K content.
By utilizing our award winning 12G-SDI chipset, PESA is able to support 4K video resolutions at 60 frames per second in their new platforms, said Gary Shah, Vice President and Business Line Manager, High-Performance Analog at MACOM. We are thrilled to work with PESA to enable the next generation of broadcast video equipment.
MACOM is a leader in migrating the industry from 3G to 12G-SDI production, said Chris Thomas, PESA President and CTO. We are excited to be at the forefront of this evolution, as we work with their 12G-SDI chipset to develop enabling technologies that guarantee video signal integrity from SD to HD to 4K.
PESA's comprehensive product offerings will be demonstrated at the 2016 NAB Show (Booth SL4621), which runs April 18-21 in Las Vegas, Nev. For more information or to schedule a demonstration, please contact PESA at sales@pesa.com.
