The new gold standard for compact column PA
Developed with DJs, musicians, event managers and business users in mind, the latest iteration of HK Audio's compact column PA system range promises to deliver impressive technical performance in a well-designed mobile format. Available in two sizes, the POLAR MK2 systems are said to offer intuitive operation and uncompromising functionality, making them an ideal all-in-one solution for a wide range of event and presentation applications.
HK Audio say that the latest arrivals deliver crystal-clear, distortion-free sound with a powerful low end, all while maintaining the compact size of their predecessors. Two sizes are available: the Polar 10 MK2 and Polar 12 MK2, with the latter offering a higher maximum SPL and an extended low-frequency response, and it's possible to combine both with the company's SONAR 115 Sub D subwoofer for applications that require some additional weight at the low end.
Both variants feature an onboard four-channel mixer with a pair of mic/line channels, a high-impedance instrument input and an Aux/Bluetooth channel that allows for both wired and wireless audio playback - mic/line channels are equipped with gain controls and are capable of supplying phantom power. Three selectable sound modes are provided (Music, Voice and DJ) along with five storable user presets that allow users to tailor the system's response to specific rooms and applications, and there's also a built-in master EQ, system delay and limiter. Thanks to Bluetooth 5.0 and True Wireless Stereo support, it's possible to connect a pair of POLAR MK2 speakers wirelessly for cable-free stereo playback.
The system's also benefit from a newly designed HK Audio Connector, which ensures a stable and mechanically secure connection between the subwoofer and column elements, as well as allowing for a cable-free connection and facilitating quick setup and break-down times. Each system comes supplied with a set of fitted carry bags for the columns, and a protected cover for the subwoofer.
