Officials from Sharjah reiterated the importance of the visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to Sharjah International Book Fair's 31st edition, considering it a manifestation of the great success that the book fair has achieved throughout its three decades of existence.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai was accompanied by His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and His Excellency Mohammed Abdullah Al Qarqawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs.
Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was received by Her Excellency Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq)/ President of the Emirates Publishers Association; Ahmad bin Mohammad Al Madfa'a, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ahmad bin Rakkad Al Amiri, Director of Sharjah International Book Fair, and a number of the important officials in the fair.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid was also received with the book fair's visitors who were extremely excited to see him, especially the 20 thousand students who came from different schools from all over the UAE.
Her Excellency Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qassimi said that this visit was a grand gesture from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, who toured the fair and visited the participating stands.
Ahmad bin Mohammad Al Madfa'a said that this visit highlights the appreciation towards Sharjah for its pioneering role as a hub for knowledge and culture, a reality emanating from the wise vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
Ahmad bin Rakkad Al Amiri stressed on the importance of the visit, as it represents the dynamic stance the leadership has towards the Emirati educational and cultural scene, which has grown expansively to reach an international level, pointing to the global significance of Sharjah Book Fair itself, which is considered one of the six most important fairs in the world. Al Amiri ended his words by expressing his appreciation of Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's visit, as it affirms the success of the fair.
Osama Samra, Director of Sharjah Media Centre, the book fair's strategic partner for media affairs, expressed his appreciation for the visit of Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to Sharjah Media Centre's stand where he listened to an explanation about the centre's mission, and the centre's publication '50 Must Know Facts About Sharjah', which contains historical, economic and scientific facts about Sharjah.
Rashid Al Kous, Project Manager of Knowledge Without Borders, expressed his appreciation of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid's visit and praise of the Knowledge Without Borders project which seeks to further enhance the community's education and knowledge.
