GoPro Jams with Music Legends NAMM

GoPro rocked the NAMM Show (National Association of Music Merchants), where a wide range of products from the music industry are exhibited, with artists all searching for the latest innovations in music technology. The GoPro booth drew a lot of attention and packed the house with a custom GoPro jam room, designed by WhisperRoom. Artists were able to document their performance with GoPro cameras capturing real-time video, which was displayed on various screens mounted to the outside of the booth. The jam room was filled with top of line gear, along with GoPro cameras mounted to instruments, capturing truly unique angles and perspectives of the artist's favorite music moments. GoPro showed the masses how the newly released GoPro HERO4 Music Edition is changing how music is not only seen, but also experienced.

The inherent issue at NAMM is showing your product well, while staying within the strict guidelines of the NAMM Show's maximum decibel level, says Josh Fletcher, WhisperRoom Design Engineer. GoPro came to us with the challenge of designing a booth large enough to house a full playing band, while offering maximum visibility and sound isolation. WhisperRoom met that challenge!

GoPro's Jam Booth was a custom-designed 16' x 16', Double-Wall WhisperRoom, with the quality craftsmanship and sound isolation attributes that WhisperRoom is known for in the industry.

Tony Royster Jr. slayed the drums in the GoPro jam booth. His most notable platforms include worldwide recognition as Jay Zs drummer for the past eight years and explosive drumming for both the Magna Carta and On The Run Tour with Jay Z and Beyonc . We are excited to officially welcome Tony Royster Jr. to the GoPro family and can't wait to see all of the epic music content he is going to create this year!

Crowds gathered as founding member of Blues Traveler and front man, John Popper, made a special guest appearance and impromptu performance on his harmonica.

Thomas Pridgen, best known for his role as the drummer of The Mars Volta, rocked the WhisperRoom with an epic performance only to be witnessed at NAMM.

GoPro was first introduced to 11-year-old musical prodigy, Brandon Niederauer, Friday night at the George Clinton and the Parliament Funkadelics show out on the NAMM GoPro Main Stage, where he rocked the house for a huge crowd of fans. We were lucky enough to have a private show with this NYC-native the following day, where he created THIS epic GoPro music moment.

Music icons, Bob Weir and Mickey Hart of the Grateful Dead stopped by the booth to say hello to the GoPro music team. Rapper Too Short also made an appearance to check out all the things GoPro is doing in music.

A few more of the top GoPro Music moments to highlight were Aaron Spears (Usher's drummer), Sergio Vallin (lead guitarist for Mexican band, MAN ), Mike Ball and Carlos Egert (Suicidal Tendencies guitarist and drummer), Ben Weinman (Dillinger Escape Plan guitarist), John Norwood (Fishbone's bassist), Dave Lombardo (Slayer's original drummer), Shariq Tucker (Guitar Center's Drummer Drum Off Winner) and Cole Marcus.
