El DoP Michael Sanders a ade el U-Tap SDI de AJA a su kit El director de fotograf a brit nico Michael Sanders ha decidido incluir en su kit de c mara el dispositivo de captura AJA U-Tap SDI USB 3.0. Los U-Tap de AJA son soluciones de captura USB 3.0 3G-SDI o HDMI que aportan conectividad y captura de v deo de alta calidad a los ordenadores port tiles y estaciones de trabajo. Sanders ha decidido utilizarlos dada su versatilidad y su variedad de formatos: Tanto si el equipo de producci n est en el extranjero y no puede viajar, como si simplemente necesitamos reducir el n mero de personas en una sala, es cada vez m s habitual crear un output con el material que recoge la c mara. El U-Tap es una herramienta ideal para esta labor. Es port til y plug-and-play, y lo m s importante es que no necesita una fuente de alimentaci n, ya que se alimenta por bus. Adem s, es muy vers til: admite casi todos los formatos y frecuencias de cuadro imaginables. El hecho de que tambi n funcione con m ltiples frecuencias de cuadro, desde 23,98 hasta 60p, significa que s lo necesito un dispositivo para atender a una serie de clientes .
El flujo de trabajo de Sanders le da la flexibilidad de proporcionar una conexi n estable para que la entrevista pueda tener lugar independientemente de la distancia a la que se encuentren el equipo de producci n y el entrevistado. Para uno de los primeros proyectos de Sanders, un documental, el director, el equipo de producci n y el guionista estaban en Estados Unidos, pero el entrevistado se encontraba en el Reino Unido. Para facilitar una conexi n en tiempo real entre el grupo, la salida de la c mara se proporcion a trav s del U-Tap, que simplemente aparec a como una fuente en Zoom. Conectado a esta plataforma, el equipo de producci n pudo ver, escuchar y supervisar el rodaje en tiempo real. Con el mezclador de audio del grabador conectado a la c mara, el U-Tap pudo extraer el audio del flujo SDI incrustado.
Conveniencia y rentabilidad Sanders tambi n transmiti en directo un informe de resultados de una empresa europea con la soluci n de AJA. Utilizando dos configuraciones de c mara id nticas situadas en diferentes oficinas dentro del mismo edificio, una para el director general y otra para el director financiero, adem s de dos U-Tap y una colecci n de otros equipos, el equipo pudo enviar se ales de alta calidad desde el Reino Unido a Estados Unidos a trav s de Internet. En EE.UU., las se ales del Reino Unido se integraron con tres se ales distintas de otros miembros del equipo ejecutivo utilizando vMix Call. Sanders afirma: Como U-Tap es compatible con 1080p, pudimos enviar f cilmente nuestra se al por Internet con una calidad lo suficientemente alta como para que un director remoto realizara un croma muy bueno y unificara la salida de los cinco sitios remotos .
Aunque los flujos de trabajo remotos han sido una pr ctica habitual para Sanders desde hace alg n tiempo, espera que las ventajas que se han hecho evidentes para el sector en general a lo largo de la pandemia sean dif ciles de ignorar en el futuro , especialmente el aspecto de la rentabilidad. Adem s, considera que esta pr ctica abre nuevas puertas a proyectos que antes no eran viables debido a los presupuestos, la log stica y los viajes.
Sea cual sea el enfoque de la producci n, Sanders conf a en que el U-Tap de AJA seguir siendo una parte clave de su flujo de trabajo. U-Tap es mi herramienta de trabajo para la producci n remota porque no necesito pensar en ello. Simplemente lo conecto y est ah , disponible como fuente en cualquier aplicaci n. Puede sonar aburrido, pero lo que necesitas de cualquier equipo en esta industria es: fiabilidad, facilidad de uso y soporte cuando algo va mal. Con U-Tap, AJA ofrece las tres cosas , concluye.
