tvebiomovies 2014 - the winners

After seven nail-biting weeks, global film competition tvebiomovies 2014 came to an end at midday (UK time) on Monday 15 December. The nine finalist films have been featured on tve's YouTube channel, with each view on YouTube counting as one vote. Together the one-minute films have clocked up more than 45,500 views over the last seven weeks.
The tvebiomovies 2014 winners are:
Greed' - a short drama by Huseyn Qulamov from Azerbaijan for the EBRD Renewable Energy Prize;
Life Without Ban Boon' - a short drama by Sudan Bhandari and Mohan Khanal from Nepal for the INBAR Prize for Bamboo and Rattan;
Save Some for the Children' a short drama by Cameroonian Eric Ewoh Opu living in Finland for the WWF-UK Prize for a World with a Future.
The winners will each receive a prize of US$1500. All of the finalist films can be watched on tve's YouTube channel.
Now in its fifth successful year, tvebiomovies 2014 invited aspiring and established film-makers to submit film proposals in four languages - French, Russian, Spanish and English, to one of three individual categories Renewable Energy', Bamboo and Rattan' and A World With a Future'. Each of the nine short-listed finalists was awarded US$300 to make their films.

tvebiomovies is in its fifth year. The latest competition was launched in June 2014 with films from three cult YouTubers - Ragenineteen (Bamboo tvebiomovies ) proektKOZA ( bioMOVIES 2014 (1500$) and matugarces (tvebiomovies 2014) on the tvebiomovies website. To date, their films have been viewed 53,628 times. tvebiomovies 2014 received 225 entries from 61 countries.
tvebiomovies 2014 is supported by the International Network for Bamboo and Rattan (INBAR) for the INBAR Prize for Bamboo and Rattan; the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for the Renewable Energy Prize (films in this category must come from the 63 EBRD member states) and WWF-UK for the category A World With a Future.
