IDS remains on grow track in 0

Germany based industrial camera manufacturer IDS Imaging Development Systems GmbH is heading towards new record sales for 2013. The 14 % increase in turnover is far in excess of the 3 % estimated by the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) for the machine vision industry. In the last 6 months the level of orders saw a 33 % increase, IDS therefore forecasts a significant growth for the second half of the year.

IDS' outstanding growth is mainly based on entering new markets geographically and application-related. The export rate saw an increase to 40 % in the past months compared to 32 % in 2012. In June 2012 the IDS Imaging Co., Ltd was founded after being present in the Japanese market with a representative office since 2010. The independent company in Japan is a major step towards expanding our business in Asia and after seeing a 100 % growth in the past year. In this context, we are also planning to increase our sales and support staff which emphasises our commitment to local customers , explains CEO Torsten Wiesinger.

Yet the introduction of new products adds to the continued success of IDS: With its Ensenso N10 stereo 3D camera and its USB 3.0 camera series IDS already fulfills the rising demands of the machine vision market.

To equip the company for further growth we are not only focusing on the development of new camera series or enhancing the USB 3.0 camera portfolio but are also placing an internal focus on optimizing our production processes , says CEO J rgen Hartmann.

A key factor for continuing growth is to employ further highly qualified staff. We are collaborating intensively with universities, colleges and schools and offer a range of training programs for young people , adds Torsten Wiesinger. IDS currently employs 130 staff.
