Sharjah press Club Conducts Training Course on...

The Sharjah Press Club (SPC) of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB) has successfully concluded an intensive, week-long training course on Arabic Grammar for Journalists and Media Professions. Some 20 aspiring journalists and media professionals were given an overview of the fundamentals of Arabic language and grammar and common pitfalls and mistakes as part of the course conducted by eminent experts at the offices of the SGMB.

As part of the training course, the trainees were given a grounding in the proper pronunciation and basics of Arabic language and grammar in the day-to-day use for journalists and media professionals.

The course also covered aspects like the most common grammatical errors and spelling mistakes committed by Arabic language media professionals. The course experts explained essential concepts and language issues by providing practical examples and constant interaction with trainees.

The Arabic grammar course was hosted by the Sharjah Press Club as part of its mission and efforts to enhance professional skills and expertise of local media professionals through intensive and focussed training programmes and initiatives in order to broaden their professional outlook and opportunities.

Huda Al Dah, Manager of the Sharjah Press Club, said the Club is keen to cooperate with renowned media institutions at the local and regional levels, as well as with international experts, to implement a variety of training programmes aimed at serving the SPC members and helping them perform their jobs more efficiently and professionally. She noted that the Club is also planning to hold training sessions and seminars for the purpose of helping members keep abreast of the best practices and latest developments in the press and media sector.

The SPC is managed by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau earlier known as Sharjah Media Centre and has been serving the media fraternity in Sharjah and the UAE for the past five years. The SPC offers an ideal platform for journalists and other individuals and institutions involved in the media to interact, network and learn of new developments and opportunities, debate issues and explore our collective role as communicators.
