Sports Producer

Assist in the general pre and post production of the show, Must be able to source and generate ideas and material for the show, Must be able to write and package sports and general inserts for the show, Arrange and prepare sports interviews (arrange, script and prepare for interviews)

Coordinate and manage sports schedule

Process all music cue sheets when necessary

Book camera and crew for all sports related shoots

Brief cameraman on shoots

Directing editor to cut pictures according to storyline

Updating all the sports stories before transmission

Sourcing all sports visuals related to the storyline

Write stories to tie in with pictures

Editing pictures and notes

Identifying sports stories through research, sourcing and networking

Indentifying and sourcing sports stories on wires

Directing cameraman on set-up of interview (topic, appropriate visuals)

Do voiceover work for packages when necessary

Networking - identifying sources and potential story lines

Obtaining approval of script from editor

Screening functions, events for possible newsworthy items

Minimum two years' experience as a sports writer/journalist

A thorough knowledge of sport both local and international

Willingness to work shifts

Willingness to work odd hours

Excellent command of the English language

Excellent writing skills

Well spoken, with a voice suitable for television broadcasts

ability to troubleshoot, take direction and work under pressure

Proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
