Let's Dance Adlib takes Coda Audio to Creamfields 2013 Friday 06. September 2013 15:51

Creamfields is the UK's biggest electronic dance music festival, its success elevating it to a global phenomenon, with the brand delivering festivals across the globe from Abu Dhabi to Rio de Janeiro. This year's UK festival saw audio and lighting supplier Adlib Audio supply Coda Audio loudspeakers as part of its audio solution, delivering a new level of sonic clarity to the Annie Mac Presents Arena, Skream and Benga and Hospitality areas.

There is a strong local and regional affinity between Liverpool-based Adlib and Cream, the nightclub that began as a cool house music experience in the heart of Liverpool in 1992 and grew into the vibrant, global brand it is today.

This year, they collaborated with creative and technical production specialists LarMac LIVE on the event, which was staged at Daresbury Estate in Cheshire over the August Bank Holiday weekend. Adlib called on its vast experience and knowledge of designing electronic dance music sound systems, which require even coverage from the front to the very back of each arena to bring dance-loving festival goers right into the heart of the live experience', heart pumping bass and the power and vitality to match each areas visual effects. As in previous years, the company delivered amazing results.

Having had incredible success with its Coda ViRAY system on OMD's European tour earlier this year, Adlib was keen to showcase its adaptability, along with its tried and trusted Coda AIRLINE systems.

In the brand new Skream and Benga curated arena, where Saturday night rocked with Radio 1's Skream and Benga themselves, plus friends including Andy C, Redlight, Rustie, Jack Beats, Alvin Risk, Zinc, Bondax, Clean Bandit, Kidnap Kid, Woz and many more, engineers Rui Sio and Damien Breeze made the bass grooves kick loud and clear with 20 Coda AIRLINE LA12 loudspeakers for the main arrays, plus 12 Coda ViRAY for delays and 24 Coda SCP-F subs.

In Annie Mac, Adlib's Dave Ryan and Tom Geoghegan were in charge of another 20 Coda AIRLINE LA12s and 16 Coda SCP-F subs for the main system. Coda also proved an ideal solution for Hospitality with eight AIRLINE LA12s and eight AIRLINE LA8 infills for the main stage and surrounding area.

The compact and versatile Coda ViRAY is an ideal PA for this gig where the flying and weight limitations of the arenas and tents make it vital to have a lightweight box and ensure the PA is powerful enough to get maximum coverage and intelligible SPL to every part of each arena, says Adlib Director Phil Stoker.

"The Coda PA system also has an incredibly fast transient response, due to the patented sensor controlled subwoofer technology. This results in a maximally flat frequency response down to 25Hz, with very little group delay - perfect for electronic dance music."

Adlib Director Peter Abraham added Expectations are high at any event but here - working with the Cream brand, LarMac LIVE and delivering to the very high expectations of the client and to their audience - is Adlib's ultimate challenge.
