El longevo programa de la BBC Escape to the Country ha optado en su ltima temporada por utilizar la c mara CineAlta PMW-F5 de Sony.
Mark Bos, productor ejecutivo de Escape to the Country (Boundless Productions), reconoce que la calidad de las im genes de la F5 es magn fica; siempre tratamos de mejorar la calidad y los est ndares t cnicos y de aumentar la escala y la ambici n de la serie, y la F5 forma parte de esta estrategia .

Sin embargo, el equipo de producci n ha comenzado a utilizar recientemente la c mara CineAlta PMW-F5 de Sony para mejorar a n m s la calidad de la imagen de este querido cl sico de la televisi n, ahora en su decimocuarta temporada.
Mark Bos afirma que cuando nos encontr bamos a mitad de la temporada, decidimos comenzar a utilizar la F5. Aunque es una c mara de gama alta y todos nuestros directores/productores son operadores, los resultados que recibimos desde el lugar de filmaci n son excelentes .
La ventaja de usar la F5 es la calidad de la imagen , afirma Bos. La calidad de las im genes de la F5 es magn fica; siempre tratamos de mejorar la calidad y los est ndares t cnicos y de aumentar la escala y la ambici n de la serie, y la F5 forma parte de esta estrategia .
Bos admite que una c mara como la PMW-500 de Sony, que se ha utilizado previamente en Escape to the Country, puede ser m s f cil de utilizar en determinadas condiciones en las que suelen grabar, pero afirma que el producto final de la F5 es fant stico y por eso la utilizamos. Nuestros profesionales de etalonaje disponen de muchos m s detalles y colores con los que pueden jugar durante el etalonaje; el resultado final es una serie de gran calidad que siempre ofrece buenos resultados .
Una evoluci n natural
Bos ha sentado las bases durante estos ltimos a os al llevar Escape to the Country de una captaci n basada en cinta a XDCAM basados en ficheros, lo que ha facilitado la transici n al modelo CineAlta F5 de gama m s alta.
Hemos grabado bas ndonos en ficheros desde 2007, por lo que hemos aprendido mucho acerca de las c maras basadas en ficheros y el flujo de trabajo digital. Tambi n trabajamos con HD desde 2008, as que cambiar a la F5 era un avance y un paso adelante natural , afirma Bos.
En cada programa, utilizamos una nica F5 con un objetivo gran angular Canon HJ14 para capturar la acci n, que se centra en gran medida en varias familias que ven unas propiedades en el campo brit nico y deben decidir si desean mudarse de la ciudad al campo.
Titus Ogilvy, productor y director de la serie, explica que, a pesar de que la F5 tiene la capacidad de grabar en 4K, se tom la decisi n de seguir grabando la serie en HD 1080i, ya que grabar en 4K un programa como Escape consumir a pronto los discos duros de posproducci n .
La F5 se adapta a la perfecci n al flujo de trabajo ya consolidado que se ha utilizado en Escape to the Country desde que se comenz a utilizar el archivado basado en ficheros: Cada d a, las tomas se env an al encargado de los datos para que las copie en dos unidades de disco duro. Es un sistema que hemos estado utilizando durante m s de tres a os , afirma Ogilvy.
Ogilvy comparte el mismo entusiasmo por la calidad de la imagen producida por la F5 que su compa ero Bos: La F5 ofrece una calidad de imagen soberbia. Incluso para el ojo inexperto existe una diferencia notable entre la F5 y las c maras anteriores que graban a la misma velocidad de bits. La profundidad y la riqueza de las im genes de la F5 es extremadamente impresionante .
