The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games will take place from 28 July to 8 August next year with Canon announced as official imaging supporter

Canon has announced that it has been appointed as the official imaging supporter' for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, which takes place between 28 July and 8 August next year.

The sponsorship will see Canon providing athletes and organisers with on-site medical imaging services, dedicated Canon professional service (CPS) support and printing solutions.

The Games will see around 6,000 athletes from 72 nations and territories compete in 19 sports and eight para-sports across 14 competition venues, and is expected to attract more than one million spectators to the city with an expected global TV audience of 1.5 billion.

According to Canon, its Professional Services will give photographers and broadcasters behind-the-scenes support in capturing the action, while dedicated on-site printing services will help the event organisers and venues to deliver an exciting fan and spectator experience . It will also provide medical imaging services to support athletes' performance during the Games, including MRI, ultrasound, and X-ray imaging services which will be available throughout the athletes' village and in diagnostic vehicles.
