The new film produced in Chile opened the Horizontes Latinos competition at the 73rd edition of the San Sebasti n International Film Festival, featuring participation from Dominga Sotomayor and Mar a Paz Grandjean, its director and lead actress, respectively.

It will premiere on Netflix on October 10.

Swim To Me, based on the novel of the same name by Alia Trabucco, was presented today for the first time at the 73rd edition of the San Sebasti n International Film Festival. The new film by Chilean filmmaker Dominga Sotomayor, her first production for Netflix, opened the Horizontes Latinos section of the prestigious festival.

The world premiere featured the participation of director Dominga Sotomayor and lead actress Mar a Paz Grandjean, along with producers Juan De Dios and Roc o Jadue. Also in attendance were Mar a Laura Berch (Acting Coach for actress Rosa Puga) and Gabriela Larralde (co-screenwriter), who were part of the official activities of the international event.

The premiere was very exciting; its very special to open Horizontes Latinos, which is such a historic section that has highlighted the cinema of our region. I believe this film is an attempt to revisit and update the idea of domestic work in Latin America. I am very pleased with the reception and to have been able to share it with such a large audience outside of Chile, said director Dominga Sotomayor.

After its appearance at the San Sebasti n International Film Festival, Swim To Me will be screened in select cinemas in Chile on September 25 and will premiere globally on Netflix on October 10.
