Tribeca Festival 2025 Unveils New Premieres Spanning Film and Music

Slick Rick's Victory with Idris Elba and Nas, and Turnstile's Never Enough Lead Bold Visual Album Lineup

New York, NY, (May 8, 2025) - The 2025 Tribeca Festival, presented by OKX, today announced new programming additions, featuring boundary-pushing visual albums, compelling documentaries, and standout narrative films. This year's festival takes place June 4-15 in New York City.

As visual albums gain momentum as a transformative narrative format, Tribeca announces two new groundbreaking premieres in the 2025 lineup-joining the previously announced world premiere of Miley Cyrus' visual album Something Beautiful. The international premiere of Victory, a gripping new visual album from hip-hop legend Slick Rick, transports audiences to the vibrant streets of London and features appearances by Idris Elba, Nas and Giggs, with bold visuals directed by Meji Alabi. Slick Rick will join for a live conversation following the premiere. Also debuting is Turnstile: Never Enough, a 50-minute audiovisual odyssey from Baltimore's genre-defying hardcore band Turnstile. Directed by frontman Brendan Yates and guitarist Pat McCrory, the film captures the band's raw energy through striking cinematography and sound. Their first full-length album in four years, Never Enough will be followed by a conversation with the band.

Tribeca also expands its lineup with a compelling mix of documentary and narrative premieres, including Raoul's, A New York Story, a richly personal documentary directed by Greg Olliver and Karim Raoul that explores the legacy of one of New York City's most iconic restaurants. Narrative highlights include Dead Language, a poignant, full-length adaptation of the Oscar-nominated short film Aya, from directors Mihal Brezis and Oded Binnun, starring Sarah Adler and Ulrich Thomsen.

There is always more in store at Tribeca, said Tribeca Festival Director and SVP of Programming Cara Cusumano. We added these premieres because they're electric - they push boundaries, stir conversation, and reflect the kind of fearless creativity Tribeca was made for. Whether it's a visual album that redefines music storytelling or powerful films about identity and connection, these projects expand what it's possible to experience at a festival.

The festival will also host the New York premieres of two acclaimed Sundance award winners. Twinless, recipient of the Sundance Audience Award, is a heartfelt dramedy exploring grief, male friendship, and unexpected connections, starring James Sweeney and Dylan O'Brien. A conversation with Sweeney follows the premiere. Come See Me in the Good Light, winner of the Festival Favorite Award, is an intimate documentary following poet Andrea Gibson and their partner Megan Falley as they navigate life after Gibson's diagnosis of incurable cancer. Directed by Ryan White, the film features an original song performed by Sara Bareilles and Brandi Carlile. Post-premiere, there will be a conversation with White and producer Tig Notaro, executive producers Glennon Doyle and Abby Wambach, plus a special appearance by executive producer Sara Bareilles.
