Deltatre has named former Verizon executive Bhavesh Upadhyaya VP of online operations of the Americas. Upadhyaya has a track record of growing monthly recurring revenues for sports and digital-media companies. Most recently, at Verizon, he led delivery of several high-value OTT platforms for major brands that reach millions of consumers on a daily basis.

Bhavesh Upadhyaya will lead the strategic direction for delivery and operation of major sports contracts for OTT and owned-and-operated video services.

In his new role, Upadhyaya will oversee delivery of client projects across the U.S. Since opening its regional office in L.A. in June 2017, the company has won several major sports contracts for OTT and owned-and-operated video services. Based in the L.A. office, Upadhyaya will lead the strategic direction for delivery and operation of these services. He will lead a 50-person-strong digital team spread across the three U.S. offices of Deltatre.

He has extensive experience working with the world's most influential companies in the live-sports-production industry. He led the technical and professional-services teams that managed global distribution for several of the world's largest sports events, including four Olympic Games and the first Super Bowl to be streamed online. Upadhyaya also won an Emmy Award for his involvement in delivering a new approach to sports programming at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Commenting on the appointment, Deltatre President of Americas Andrea Marini says Upadhyava is a seasoned veteran of the industry, a natural problem-solver, and a team leader.

His track record in the technical delivery of sports services is second to none, he says. Bhavesh is precisely what we need as Deltatre's U.S. business continues through a period of substantial growth.

Says Upadhyava, I've worked with Deltatre on many projects over the years, including the Beijing and Vancouver Olympics. As OTT changes the content-delivery game in sport, I'm excited to be part of a company that's driving innovation and the future of this technology for many of the biggest names in the business.

Alongside overseeing projects in both North America and Canada, part of Upadhyaya's remit will be to work alongside Marini in growing Deltatre's LATAM business. This will become a key focus for the company in the second half of 2019.
