Mzansi's most-watched soapie - Uzalo has recruited actresses - Omuhle Gela and Thabisile Zikhali to join the show.

Gela and Zikhali will join the SABC1 soapie in March to play the roles of Nomaswazi and Constable Biyela respectively.

UZALO': NEW CAST MEMBERS Former The Queen actresses Omuhle Gela and Thabisile Zikhali are the latest stars to join SABC1's soapie - Uzalo.

Gela took to her Instagram account and confirmed the news:

Cat's out of the bag, I see. I'm so excited to be joining the cast of South Africa's number one soapie.

Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela also announced that Rockville and The Queen actress Thabisile Zikhali has bagged the role of Constable Biyela on the show.

She will make her on-screen debut on 4 March!

Uzalo's spokesperson Nomfundo Zondi informed Daily Sun that season eight will come with some changes and that viewers will be stunned by the talent and drama.

Zondi also told the publication that Gela will shake things up on the show.

Thabisile Zikhali joins Uzalo

Zikhali will play Constable Biyela, and is expected to make her onscreen debut on March 4th.

OMUHLE GELA: PREVIOUS TV ROLES Gela has made appearances on shows such as e.tv's canned telenovela Broken Vows as Mbali Ndlovu, Mzansi Magic's drama series The Imposter and Ring of Lies.

The actress also made an appearance in Generations - now dubbed Generations: The Legacy as a guest star.

The seasoned actress is popularly known for her role as the first Busi Motsamai in SABC2's Venda soapie - Muvhango.

Busi Motsamai was James Motsamai's (Dingaan Mokebe) daughter who committed suicide.

She is also known for playing drug-dealer Dollar's daughter Khumbuzile in Mzansi Magic's recently canned telenovela - The Queen.

Gela also appeared in Taxi Ride season one as Beauty and Tshisa season three as a guest star alongside Enhle Mbali.

She also starred in Umlilo seasons one to four as Andile Simelane and Zabalaza seasons one to three as My Girl according to TVSA.
