Zilin place art gallery, the first private museum opened to the public for free in Ningbo, celebrated her birthday on Spet. 28th. On the same day, Chen Mingwei curator of Zilin place art gallery took up the position of president of private museum guild of Ningbo. Its significant for 48 private museums to establishing their guild.

It comes a three layers of existent buildings with a big pond, moon gate, rosewood door and windows on the intersection of Tiantong South Road and Rili Middle Road. It is the Zilin place art gallery that open to the public for free since Spet. 28th, 2008, which is Chen Weimings Peach Garden.

Plenty collections of arts and crafts works displayed in this art gallery, some of them are invaluable. Chen Weiming also design a calligraphy and painting exhibition hall and a intangible cultural heritage exhibition hall to offer artists place to display their works.

Chen Weiming, 53 years old, is the first Chinese arts and crafts master in Ningbo and also the inheritor of national intangible cultural heritage "Jie Gu Xian Mu". He attributed his success to combining of commerce and culture, supporting the invaluable art gallery while implementing artistic creation.

The profit came form Chens arts and crafts order not only help supporting the art gallerys daily operation but also used to buy expensive quality wood to offer more material for Chens creation. "It will be a virtuous circles." Chen said.

Ningbo Zhi Qing Museum: its not easy to support museum by business.

Zhi Qing museum located by the waterside of Tengling reservoir, south of Hengjie town of Yinzhou district. Four years ago, some Ningbo educated youth raised 600,000 RMB to set up Zhi Qing museum. The curator Ye Yitong said that their thought about setting up a museum to reserve the precious materials about the history of the educated youth after going back to Hei Kongjiang Province in 2004.

Zhi Qing Museum faced various problems even it has a lot of loyal fans and budget subsidy supported by Yinzhou district government. The fact is that the museum cant make ends meet. Ye said, the museum has a deficit of forty or fifty thousand yuan every year.
