AKA Design furniture upgrade for the Shed

The Farm Groups offline facility, The Shed, is refreshing all 12 of its AKA Design ProEdit desks, which have been in use at the Soho facility for the last ten years. AKA is replacing the main ProEdit worktops with a new grey lino finish, which is proving increasingly popular for all editing, grading, audio and music environments.

The Shed houses cutting rooms for high-volume and fast-turnaround programmes, including many of the UK s highest rating shows, which come back to the facility year after year. Each suite is equipped with a ProEdit desk, housing an Avid editing system together with access to shared storage. The ProEdit desk is designed to meet the requirements of online and offline editing environments, with various racks and worktops that can be configured to meet each users specific requirements. The desk is also available in various different colour combinations.

The AKA ProEdit desks have been the workhorse of our offline suites for the last decade at The Shed and are popular with both our in-house editors and our clients, explained Adam Peat, Chief Engineer at The Farm Group. With the ability to just change the worktops, theres less downtime when upgrading our suites since we can leave most of the cabling intact. This means we should be able to change everything over with minimum disruption to our day-to-day activities.
