Heading into its third year, the World Animation & VFX Summit (Summit), Nov. 2 - 5, in Los Angeles, brings together studio executives, producers, agents, distributors and talent to discuss industry trends, the latest software and hardware technologies and production techniques that are shaping the future of the worldwide animation and VFX industry. This year's Summit theme centers on A Year of Reinvention and Renovation.
Session Highlight: Paul Babb, Technology Keynote

MAXON US president/CEO, Paul Babb will be this year's Summit technology keynote speaker. Babb is a graphics software technology authority with more than two decades of direct industry experience in the 3D animation, visual effects and motion graphics industry. He is noted for his unlimited creative energy, progressive stance on product development and customer service, and support for education. At the Summit, he will share his thoughts on technology advances that are helping artists create cutting-edge 3D motion graphics, architectural and product visualizations, video game graphics and tips for how companies can stay competitive by engaging communities.

Brandon Reza Parvini, creative director and co-founder of Ghost Town Media, an LA-based interdisciplinary visual effects and design boutique, relies on MAXON Cinema 4D to generate award winning work for various mediums including film, international branding, broadcast commercials and live-visuals for the worlds top performers including Muse, Linkin Park, Mercedes, Absolut, and others. Parvini will join other creative luminaries at the Summit to explore the VFX and animation technologies the studio is using that foster the creative process.

2014 Content & Communications World
The 2014 Content & Communications World (CCW), November 12-13 in New York, is produced by the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) and is the East Coasts premier content and communications event. MAXON will again take part at CCW as an event exhibitor. Session: What is Projection Mapping and How Can I Use It?
Date/Time: Thursday, November 13, 10:15 a.m. - 10:45 a.m.
Herman will help attendees understand the technique of projection mapping -- taking photographs and matte paintings and mapping them onto simple 3D geometry -- to give the effect of creating complex rendered worlds and sophisticated lighting. Creative Talent Network Animation eXpo
The Creative Talent Network animation eXpo (CTNX), November 21 - 23 in Burbank, Calif., is an animation convention that focuses on putting the talent center stage. The event brings together creative professionals from the digital and traditional worlds of animation and features workshops and educational sessions, artist and vendor demos, and networking events. MAXON returns as an event exhibitor and will be showcasing its 3D software line that gives animators the ability to easily create imagery. Chris Korn, a motion graphics and character animator at Zoic Studios in Los Angeles, will also be onsite to demo the latest sculpting features in Cinema 4D R16.

Ian Robinson, motion graphics designer, instructor, photographer, and co-owner of SoftBox Media, will lead an in-depth session that explores Cinema 4D and Cinema 4D Lite and their integration with Adobe After Effects to demonstrate the transition moving from 2D to 3D and how to integrate 3D into one's everyday workflow.
