At IBC2014 in Amsterdam next month, Digital Nirvana will introduce its Media Management Platform, which offers a suite of applications that allows users to capture, edit, share, and manage content as well as prove compliance, monitor and analyze video. Digital Nirvana will exhibit this platform in the booth of EMEA Gateway during the IBC convention Hall 9, Stand B14.
Professionals using the new Digital Nirvana platform can capture content from multiple live video feeds in original recording and proxy format; edit, capture andstore live video feeds; quickly repurpose content for multiple platforms and export it for final editing, rebroadcast, MAM, and archiving; manage and search content using advanced search terms; log and monitor video for regulatory or licensing requirements and quality control; and compare, review and analyze content for competitive analysis, legal reviews, and cross-functional collaboration.
We couldnt think of a better venue than IBC to launch our new platform, said Arco Groenenberg, director of sales and marketing for Broadcast Products, Digital Nirvana. With these new features, weve solidified our platform as the smartest management solution in the industry with the most rapid return on investment. Based on the feedback we receive from our close customer relationships, well keep pushing the envelope and bring more functionality to this centralized approach.
The Digital Nirvana Media Management Platform includes the following applications:
Capture
A feature-rich capture application records and stores hybrid inputs including SDI, ASI, ASI-IP, ATSC and QAM signals. Recording formats include 50 Hz, 60 Hz, SD/HD and DVB-T/C/S2. The platform supports RF and Cable Card Technology recording from encrypted cable feeds in full HD allowing for direct cable and off-air antenna recording with no conversion needed. By setting parameters within the Program Guide, users can schedule continuous or intermittent recording. Users can record, monitor and analyze the performance of multiple competitive stations, saving hours of time, raising productivity and eliminating the need for stand-alone DVRs.
Edit
A powerful edit application allows users to produce frame-accurate cut clips from live or previous recordings, allowing for quick turn around when repurposing and editing content. OTT clipping and ad verification are also included in this system. Edits can be made from the desktop or mobile devices using any standard web browser. An unlimited number of users can collaborate from anyplace via the web-based interface. Content can be uploaded to the cloud and stored for final editing, re-broadcast, MAM files or archives.
Share
The platform enables users to capture and record multiple video feeds and repurpose them quickly for multiple platforms such as web, mobile, social media and the cloud. Clips can be exported directly to editing, MAM and archiving solutions. NAS Connect allows for connection to NAS/SAN storage for expansion and easy integration into existing workflows. The platform also allows unlimited user account and role set-ups and provides web captioning ability.
Manage
The platforms management capabilities set Digital Nirvanas approach apart from other systems. Users can search by date, time, and channel as well as by key words in the close caption, alert reports, as-run and traffic logs. Expression searches enable simultaneous keyword searches in the As Run log and closed captioning sections. A Boolean search capability makes it easier to define the search by adding AND, OR, + within search terms. This allows the user to search for captions that contain multiple words. The results are contained within a summary list with a hyperlink to the video content. Users can set up custom profiles with specific preferences that, depending upon the application, are searchable by time, date and alarm profile.
Comply
Users can log and monitor video content for regulatory, licensing requirements and quality control. Alerts can customized based upon the channel, time of day, duration, and choice of error such as a missing closed caption, loss of video or audio, loudness, etc. Customized profiles with specific preferences, searchable by time, date and alarm profile, can be set up.
Analyze
Users can also compare, review and analyze content for quality, competitive analysis, legal review and collaboration. It also extracts NAVE (Nielsen Audio Video Encoder) watermarks embedded in the audio track of the DTV signal and can log that data. The system decodes, logs, and verifies the presence of the watermarks to: ensure proper transmission and delivery to Nielsens home monitoring equipment; enable effective troubleshooting with real-time alerts for any signal discrepancies; and ensure ratings credit for advertising, allowing the setting of proper ad rates. It also provides a directors audio track for assistance troubleshooting newscasts and programs.
Optional Modules
- Loudness monitoring
- iPad/iPhone encoding
- Centralized management
- REST API
- Variable speed playback that allows for playback at 2x, 4x, 1/2x, and -2x; enabling faster operation during legal reviews, ad verification, content review and repurposing.
Hardware
The solution runs on a feature-rich hardware appliance that accepts multiple inputs in one unit, allowing operators to do more with less hardware. In addition to recording SDI, ASI, ASI-IP, ATSC and QAM signals, it supports SD/HD, 50 Hz, 60 Hz and DVB-T/C/S2 formats. It also supports RF and Cable Card Technology recording from encrypted cable feeds in full HD. It is an industrial grade server with Linux OS, RAID 6HDD, built-in redundant power supplies and open IT connectivity
The system is available in three levels: Essentials (1RU server), Pro and Enterprise (both 3RU)
