Avid has updated its MediaCentral platform to enable Adobe Premiere Pro editors to browse, search, access and edit Avid-based content and metadata without leaving Adobe Premiere Pro.

According to the companies, the collaboration will enable content creators to share their assets and projects, enabling a more efficient media production workflow environment, as well as allowing teams that create content for digital platforms, social media and marketing to share and deliver content on the same infrastructure used by broadcast teams.

Today, digital first production teams and marketing departments that rely on Adobe Premiere Pro now can seamlessly work in Avid production environments leveraging industry-proven production and asset management and storage solutions to browse, search, edit, share and distribute content easily. We're just getting started with Adobe to make enhancements we know our users will welcome.

Vizrt launches software-only, IP-based live production solution Vizrt has announced the launch of Viz Vectar Plus, a new software-only, IP-based live production solution aimed at major broadcasters and other video creators.

According to Vizrt, the solution can switch, mix, and actualise any type of live production for television, internet, and mobile distribution while removing traditional boundaries of media formats, I/O, channels, and delivery.

The solution also includes Live Call Connect which is able to harness nearly all of the current video calling applications, transforming conference callers into separate video sources, regardless of platform.

It also incorporates a new Audio Connect extension that utilises NDI to enable a fully virtualised audio workflow connected with a wide range of audio mixing and processing applications.

Edgeware allows 5G optimisation with Cloud-based elastic CDN technology Edgeware's Cloud-based elastic CDN solution now allows high-quality video streaming applications over mobile access infrastructures, such as 4G and 5G.

According to Edgeware, utilising the technology's scalability and ability to optimise quality of experience enables mobile operators to combat issues such as network congestion, when delivering video content over wireless networks.

The solution is designed to be deployed in a Network Functions Virtualisation (NFV) environment as a virtualised software instance, running in a data centre with separated control and data planes.

Johan Bolin, chief product and technology officer at Edgeware, said: Our CDN offering, complemented with StreamPilot, creates the ideal solution for 4G and 5G video delivery. Its state-of-the-art design and intelligence located at the edges are well suited for mobile networks, enabling operators to quickly scale streaming instances up and down as necessary. The highly granular management possibilities offered are unparalleled in any access technology, but they become even more powerful in a wireless network where capacity constraints typically occur.
