The six trends that are impacting on the media and entertainment industry Partiendo de un estudio global en base a trece segmentos en 54 pa ses de todo el mundo, PwC ha elaborado un estudio en el que entre otras variables recoge las que pueden considerarse como las seis tendencias que est n transformando la industria.
En su informe Entertainment and Media Outlook (2017-2021), la consultora PwC hace un an lisis de las principales tendencias en las que est inmersa el sector de media y entretenimiento con respecto a la estrategia de contenidos, el cambio tecnol gico, la cadena de valor, la regulaci n, el modelo de negocio y las transacciones.
PwC elabora este estudio global partiendo de trece segmentos en 54 pa ses de todo el mundo, lo que permite obtener una visi n integral de lo que est pasando y de lo que veremos en el pr ximo lustro.
En un escenario complejo y cada d a m s competitivo, las empresas del sector de Entretenimiento y Medios (E&M) tratan de identificar nuevos espacios de desarrollo para seguir creciendo de manera sostenible. En este contexto, los consumidores m s
j venes est n generando nuevas e interesantes oportunidades, tanto para las compa as ya establecidas como para los nuevos actores de la industria.
Las empresas est n llevando a cabo grandes avances en materia de servicios y soluciones digitales. Sin embargo, el an lisis de PwC indica que existen varios desaf os que es preciso tener en cuenta para asegurar un crecimiento sostenible. La menor capacidad para fijar precios, la desinflaci n y la aparici n de medios gratuitos o contenidos compartidos hacen que resulte especialmente complicado un crecimiento org nico del sector.
Crecimiento del 4,45%
A la luz de los datos recogidos en el informe Global Entertainment and Media Outlook 2016-2020, se estima que el sector E&M crecer un 4,45 % CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate, por sus siglas en ingl s, o tasa de crecimiento anual compuesto) en los pr ximos cinco a os. Este crecimiento supone una desaceleraci n con respecto al a o pasado, cuando el sector aument sus ingresos un 5,5%, y estar a por debajo del avance conjunto de la econom a a lo largo del pr ximo lustro.
No obstante y a pesar de esta ralentizaci n, podemos observar que se trata de un sector din mico y diverso con un crecimiento constante y sostenible a medio y largo plazo. Aunque su evoluci n no es compartida de manera homog nea por todos los agentes de la industria, no cabe duda de que hay numerosos mbitos en los que encontramos grandes oportunidades y avances realmente interesantes. De hecho, hemos observado que desaceleraciones y estancamientos parciales conviven con fuertes movimientos expansivos en determinados pa ses, regiones o segmentos.
Se trata, en suma, de una industria heterog nea y diversa en la que coexisten m ltiples subsectores con comportamientos dispares. Por ello, podemos afirmar que, cada vez m s, nos encontramos ante un mundo de diferencias caracterizado por la falta de uniformidad en el crecimiento de ingresos pero cohesionado por la imparable transformaci n digital.
Buena prueba de la pujanza del sector es que en 36 de los 54 pa ses analizados en esta edici n, el gasto en entretenimiento y medios crece m s deprisa que el PIB, a menudo con factor de crecimiento que supera el 50%. De hecho, en muchos de los mercados m s poblados, como Brasil, Pakist n o Nigeria, se experimentan subidas claramente superiores a los que registran como pa s.
