Rural Media Group, Inc. (RMG) the world's leading provider of multimedia content for rural life, news and western sports announced today that it has hired Sean Cassidy as the company's inaugural VP of Sponsors and Events for its Western Lifestyle and Equine divisions. Cassidy, whose role is effective immediately, comes to the rural-themed broadcast company with more than two decades of sponsorship and sales experience with Clear Channel Media and Entertainment in Las Vegas.
Cassidy, a recent 2012 Inductee into the Nevada Broadcasters Hall of Fame, has been with Clear Channel Media and Entertainment in Las Vegas for 21 years having consistently proven his way up the ladder from Promotions Director to his most recent charge as General Sales Manager. In 2007, he was honored as W.I.C. Las Vegas Radio Sales Manager of the Year and in 2003 received the Clear Channel Radio President's Club Sales Award.
A native of rural Smithville, Missouri, Cassidy, an avid outdoorsman with a passion for team roping and fishing, hails from an already rich agricultural and western lifestyle background. I'm excited to make the change and come on board with the results driven team at RMG, said Cassidy of his new position. This is an exciting time for new event development and I look forward to expanding our opportunities in not only Las Vegas, but across the western region with regard to western lifestyle programs.

Rural Media Group, Inc. parent company of RFD-TV, America's official rural network, has seen a significant spike in growth over the last year. The company acquired FamilyNet, a wholesome, values-focused cable channel currently distributed into over 22 million U.S. homes and merged this network with RURAL TV, the company's commodity markets-driven news network responsible for Market Day Report and the Rural Evening News. Last week, the company announced the launch of RURAL RADIO, an agribusiness and western lifestyle themed channel, on SiriusXM channel 80. This satellite radio channel will begin broadcasting on July 15th and a media-focusedlaunch event is scheduled for August 3rd at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
