S o Paulo, May, 20th, 2020 - The second season of the acclaimed Brazilian period drama Girls from Ipanema, produced by Prodigo Films for Netflix, premieres on June, 19th, in the worlds leading streaming entertainment service. The first look images were also released this Wednesday.
Malu (Maria Casadevall) remains the determined woman, dedicated mother and loyal friend we met in the first season. However, now she has a burning strength, fueled by a trauma that made her stronger and now without excuses, without filter and uninhibited. Thereza (Mel Lisboa) chooses to dedicate her life to taking care of her family and her house. But she soon realizes that she is missing another type of accomplishment: work (this time in a radio channel). Before getting married, Ad lia (Pathy Dejesus) thinks a lot about her childhood and her father, Duke (Val Perr ). She wants to start fresh with Capit o and move forward with her life. Meanwhile, her sister Ivone (Larissa Nunes) goes from a typical teenager to a talented aspiring artist who, with Malus help, will have the chance to prove her abilities to an industry dominated by men.
Returning cast also includes Fernanda Vasconcellos, as L gia; caro Silva, as Capit o; Leandro Lima, as Chico; Gustavo Machado, as Roberto, Alexandre Cioletti, as Nelson, and Gustavo Vaz, as Augusto. Among the new cast are Breno Ferreira, Eliana Pittman, Angelo Paes Leme, Alejandro Claveaux, and Kiko Bertholini - in addition to Perr .
Girls from Ipanema Season 2 will have six 50-minute episodes, produced by Beto Gauss and Francesco Civita. The series is created by Heather Roth and Giuliano Cedroni. Roth is also the writer alongside Patricia Corso and Mariana Tesch. Caito Ortiz is the general director, with Julia Rezende directing some of the episodes.
