Philippe Rousselot, ASC, AFC Receives Lifetime Achievement Award at Camerimage 2020

Esteemed French cinematographer Philippe Rousselot, ASC, AFC was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at this year's International Film Festival EnergaCamerimage. The event is being held in Torun, Poland.

Rousselot was honored by the ASC in 2017 with its International Award.

The much-honored cinematographer earned an Academy Award for A River Runs Through It (1993), as well as an ASC nomination. Furthermore, he was Oscar-nominated for Hope and Glory (1987) and Henry & June (1990), with the former also receiving a BSC Award. His award-winning body of work includes Dangerous Liaisons (1988) and The Bear (1988), which garnered ASC nominations, and Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994), which won a BAFTA and BSC Award. Additional credits include The Miracle, Remember the Titans, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Planet of the Apes, Antwone Fisher, Sherlock Holmes, Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows, The Nice Guys, and the upcoming Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Since the festival's inception in 1993, Camerimage Lifetime Achievement Award has been the most important distinction bestowed by the International Film Festival EnergaCAMERIMAGE. This year, during the festival's 28th edition (to be held between 14th and 21st November 2020), it will be presented to an incredibly versatile cinematographer whose body of work encompasses a wide variety of genres and styles.

He has shot independent European artistic films as well as visually impressive Hollywood blockbusters. He has worked on gothic horrors and imaginative fantasy tales, he has lensed poignant courtroom dramas and charming little comedy films. His passion and devotion to the art of moving images have transported the audiences all around the world into by-gone eras and inspired the viewers from different continents to think about exciting alternative versions of our existing reality.

He collaborated with such filmmakers as Robert Redford, Tim Burton, Guy Ritchie, Stephen Frears, Patrice Ch reau, Neil Jordan, Shane Black, Milo Forman, David Yates, Denzel Washington, and Jean-Jacques Annaud. He was nominated for a number of coveted film awards, and was honored with an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, and three C sar Awards.
