PHABRIX released its Qx UHDTV1 and UHDTV2 combined generator/analyzer to the broadcast industry this IBC. After a successful preview at NAB where it won a Best of Show award it added to its 15 awards with a further one from TvTechnology.
The new Qx was impressing broadcast manufacturers looking for a test and measurement solution for 4K and 8K at the show. Developed using the very latest FPGA technology, PHABRIX once again leads with a unique physical layer analysis toolset for the broadcast industry's latest trend. Displaying the World's first' and only broadcast centric real-time' (no latency) multi frame rate 12G-SDI eye and jitter tool-set with automatic SMPTE compliance measurements, it supports comprehensive testing for both UHDTV1 and UHDTV2 infrastructures and importantly for those interested in IP, SMPTE ST 2022-6 over 10GbE for IP based infrastructures.
PHABRIX also added new features to its highly successful rack-mount product range at IBC 2015. V9.03 now provides Loudness monitoring and Closed Caption 608/708 monitoring as standard.
PHABRIX's universally acclaimed Sx hand held range boasted additional format support and a new Dolby levels audio metadata generator and an A/V generator test pattern. Eye and jitter filter and histogram toolset have been added as part of the standard SxE toolset along with a separate jitter instrument. A very useful VANC/ANC grid display now provides instant awareness of the ancillary signal present on the input and has been added as a standard feature across the whole Sx range when purchased from new.
Finally the Sx TAG, PHABRIX's multi interface hand held providing analogue, SDI and optical support now features an additional EDID display for HDMI SFP's. Useful for engineer's needing a one tool solution to test infrastructures along with HDMI monitor displays, the TAG is another example of more innovation from a very British manufacturer.
