Ningbo unveils train type and station info for Ningbo Metro Line

The Ningbo Rail Transit Project Construction Office released the subway train model that will be used for the Ningbo Metro Line 2 on November 12. According to their construction schedule, the first batch of subway trains are expected to arrive in Ningbo by the end of 2014, and the Ningbo Metro Line 2 is expected to be put into trail operation by the end of 2015.

According to the introduction, there will be 22 subway trains put into operation in the first phase of the Ningbo Metro Line 2. All of the trains consist of 6 carriages, including 4 carriages with powers and 2 carriages without powers.

With a total length of 118 meters, a maximum width of 2.9 meters, and a height of 3.8 meters, the train is estimated to be able to transport at least 1,460 passengers in a single trip and has a maximum speed of 80 kilometers per hour.

The whole train will be painted white and dotted with red and has a wave-shaped belt that implies the meaning of Bo from Ningbo city on the body. Besides, all the carriages will be equipped with LCD maps and cameras.

There will be 22 stations in the first phase of the Ningbo Metro Line 2, including: the Lishe International Airport Station, the Lishe Station, the Yinzhou Avenue Station, the Shiqi station, the Qingfang City Station, the Ouchi Station, the Passenger Transportation Center Station, the South Liyuan Road Station, the Yunxia Road Station, the City God Temple Station, the Gulou Station, the Waitan Bridge Station, the Zhengda Road Station, the Nijiayan Station, the Datong Bridge Station, the Kongpu Station, the Lulin Station, the Sanguantang Station, the Ningbo University Station, and the Qingshuipu Station.
