Cape Town taxi violence: Police find another dead driver

Cape Town has been the scene of bullets and dead bodies. The city's been hit by a recent wave of taxi violence and police, on Tuesday, stumbled upon the fifth dead body in two days.

As reported by Times Live, the body of an unidentified male was found in a taxi at Sybrand Park, Cape Town on Tuesday morning.

The Imizamo Yethu community of the foothill coastal town was rocked by a sudden hail of bullets that were targeted at a group of taxis that were parked near the taxi rank.

After the suspects fled the scene, authorities confirmed that four people were killed and others suffered minor wounds.

As things stand, the taxi rank in Hout Bay has been shut down by the Western Cape Provincial Regulatory Entity, according to the City's mayco member for safety and security, JP Smith.

City shuts down Hout Bay taxi rank Investigators have yet to come forth with information about the victim that was bagged up in Sybrand Park, around 20km away from Hout Bay.

For now, according to Smith, the plan is to get the taxi associations where it hurts the most.

If you kill, you don't get to run your business, he said.
