Grass Valley has entered a new era of non-linear editing with the launch of new software, Edius X.

The new version of the software includes a completely redesigned core engine along with a modular concept allowing even more performance for fully customisable workflows.

According to Grass Valley, EDIUS X features background rendering and background export as well as enhanced Layouter motion tracking. It also supports the newest codecs and camera releases natively and includes an ultrafast H.265 export which is also available with new background rendering options.

AWS debuts game-changing Cloud Digital Interface for playout, graphics, switching and more AWS has unveiled a new network technology that allows software vendors and AWS partners to build live video applications that can connect products and services within the AWS Cloud.

Cloud Digital Interface (CDI) enables users to deploy live video solutions, such as TV channel playout, motion graphic insertion, multi-viewer applications, live video production switching, video frame rate and colour space conversion, forensic watermarking and video encoding/decoding in the AWS Cloud.

The ability to transport uncompressed video between Amazon EC2 instances and Cloud services with high reliability and low latency is an absolutely game changing technology for broadcast and live production workflows in the Cloud, said Dan Turow, Vice President of File Based Solutions at Evertz. We have been working closely with the AWS engineering team on testing and integrating the AWS CDI SDK. It clearly has the potential to deliver exactly what the industry has been waiting for and subsequently unlocking numerous uncompressed and low latency applications in the Cloud.

Qumolo integrates with AWS Outposts Cloud file data platform Qumolo has integrated with AWS's fully-managed service, AWS Outposts.

According to Qumulo, the integration means its customers can choose to either manager their file data on-prem or in the Cloud.

We are thrilled to integrate with AWS Outposts and to achieve the AWS Service Ready status helping customers utilise their applications and attach cloud services to unstructured data running in Qumulo on-premise and on AWS, said Barry Russell, SVP and general manager of Cloud at Qumulo. With Qumulo for AWS Outposts, customers now have Qumulo's file data platform and a robust API to migrate, create, and manage unstructured file data at petabyte scale, integrated into their DevOps workflows, all while helping enterprises achieve their technology goals by leveraging the agility, breadth of services, and pace of innovation that AWS provides.
