TV Visjon Norge Upgrades to PlayBox Technology Neo

Dramen, Norway, February 13, 2017: TV Vision Norge has upgraded its PlayBox Technology AirBox broadcast playout and channel branding system to the latest-generation Neo series.

TV Visjon Norge was the first Scandinavian Christian television network to air 24 hours a day and is a long-established AirBox user, comments PlayBox Technology president Don Ash. The networks programmes are very well produced and highly innovative, making full use of the facilities available within the PlayBox Technology digital workflow. TV Visjon Norge expanded its standard-definition system to high-definition in 2015 when it also launched a Gothenburg-based Swedish channel.

This upgrade to Neo was motivated primarily by networks need to integrate a recently acquired Ross Video NK router, adds PlayBox Technology chief commercial officer Ben Gunkel. Incoming content is stored as files on a shared central archive. Title graphics and scheduling are all performed within the Neo system and then transmitted direct from one of four AirBox playout servers.

The PlayBox Technology system at TV Visjon Norge is supported locally by Engstroms AB, one of Swedens longest established and largest professional media companies. Founded in 1976, Engstroms AB is based in Kungsbacka near Gothenburg.

Recently announced Neo series enhancements include new control features, expanded file handling capabilities, greater input and output connectivity and Microsoft Windows 10 compatibility. Among other additions are streaming input compatibility with HTTP(S), UDP, RTMP, MMS(H) and YouTube plus streaming output support for UDP, RTSP and ATSC. The enhancements have all been implemented within the established graphic interface which is familiar to operators around the world.

AirBox Neo supports UHD, HD and SD playout from a single server. It is designed for 24/7 unattended operation and can also be operated manually, including the ability to handle live-to-air throughput. The enhanced Neo series, a together with the latest additions to the CloudAir cloud-based software-as-a-service offering, will make their first public appearance at the upcoming BVE 2017 exhibition in London.

The networks output is also available via cable and online. The channel is funded primarily through gift revenue of faithful support partners who share the networks vision to reach out across the Nordics. TV Vision Norway is a constantly growing company. It has 60 employees on the payroll, as well as volunteers.
