Just ahead of IBC, Amazon Web Services (AWS) unveiled AWS Elemental MediaLive Anywhere, a feature of AWS Elemental MediaLive that lets you run live video encoding on premises while using the cloud for management. Unlike typical setups operating within the AWS console, AWS Elemental MediaLive Anywhere works locally on an on-premises instance. The hardware is distributed through certified resellers, ensuring its proper implementation.
LOGIC media solutions, a leading provider of advanced broadcast and media technology, has established itself as an official reseller of this certified hardware across Europe. As a certified AWS partner, LOGIC draws on its in-depth knowledge and expertise of the AWS Cloud. The company offers a robust software, called PORTAL, with dedicated control and monitoring functionalities to run and maintain AWS infrastructures via a thought-through browser-based front end that makes production in the cloud accessible to non-technical staff. PORTAL users can then deploy the software, monitor, and manage AWS Elemental MediaLive Anywhere. This marks a significant step forward in the evolution of hybrid streaming, and LOGIC is your go-to partner for realising this vision.
Additionally, AWS Elemental MediaLive Anywhere offers substantial cost savings for clients by reducing streaming expenses. This is beneficial for both event-based streaming, where channels are required for short durations, and with MediaLive Anywhere also for 24/7 linear streaming.
LOGIC delivers a 360 package to support AWS Elemental MediaLive Anywhere, encompassing certified hardware, software, the PORTAL software, and end-to-end service and support. The certified hardware is supplied and configured by LOGIC and appears directly in the client's AWS account. With LOGIC's software PORTAL, clients can manage the system effortlessly. Through PORTAL, software is deployed on the hardware instance. Afterwards, productions are managed with PORTAL, enabling the start, stop, configure and supervision of productions, along with other functions essential for cloud-based production. PORTAL's user-friendly front end ensures even non-technical staff can efficiently oversee productions within AWS.
The complete package is infinitely scalable and can be tailored to meet each client's unique requirements, from 24/7 usage to event-based streaming that only needs a few hours per week. Clients only pay for the number of channels they use de facto, with the option of hourly billing through their own AWS account. One of the unique selling points of PORTAL is, that it runs AWS Elemental MediaLive Anywhere within the customer's account. No extra cost through an AWS bill via LOGIC will be generated.
