WIP Latam and WIP Europe are born, the new work in progress' of the San Sebastian Festival Cine en Construcci n y Glocal in Progress dan paso a dos nuevos programas para pel culas en postproducci n de Latinoam rica y Europa, respectivamente.
The Festival de Cine de San Sebasti n y la Entidad de Gesti n de Derechos de los Productores Audiovisuales (EGEDA), organizadora de los Premios Platino, promocionar n el cine latinoamericano mediante la creaci n del Premio EGEDA-Platino Industria, que estar dotado con 30.000 euros (unos 32.700 d lares).
Se trata del WIP Latam, el nuevo Work In Progress' del Festival de San Sebasti n, dirigido a producciones o coproducciones de mayor a latinoamericana, que se celebrar del 21 al 23 de septiembre en el marco de la 68 edici n del festival. Esta convocatoria sustituir al pionero Cine en Construcci n tras 18 a os de recorrido con el festival Cin latino, Rencontres de Toulouse.
Entre los proyectos que se presenten, el comit de selecci n del festival elegir seis largometrajes en fase de postproducci n. Los t tulos seleccionados ser n presentados en la secci n WIP Latam, optando tanto al premio en met lico como a importantes ayudas t cnicas para completar su producci n y distribuci n.
Por otro lado, WIP Europa es una evoluci n del programa Glocal in Progress, que pasar de presentar tres a un m ximo de seis pel culas. La pel cula galardonada con el Premio de la Industria de WIP Europa contar adem s con la distribuci n en Espa a por Bteam Pictures. WIP Europa se abre ahora a todas las pel culas de producci n europea, aunque se valorar que sean las primeras o segundas obras de sus cineastas o que est n rodadas en lenguas no hegem nicas.
Redefinici n del Festival El Festival de San Sebasti n queda configurado en tres grandes reas: un festival que selecciona y programa pel culas; un festival que promueve el desarrollo de proyectos y las pel culas en desarrollo (Films-to-Be); y un festival que reflexiona sobre el cine desde una perspectiva amplia: industrial, creativa, formativa (Pensamiento y debate).
Por un lado, la programaci n de pel culas de San Sebasti n, que consta de alrededor de 200 pel culas seleccionadas en seis secciones competitivas (Secci n Oficial, New Directors, Horizontes Latinos, Zabaltegi-Tabakalera, Perlak y Nest) y en siete no competitivas (Culinary Zinema, Made in Spain, Zinemira, Vel dromo, Cine Infantil, Retrospectiva y Klasikoak).
Por otro, las propuestas englobadas en Films-to-Be: pel culas en fase de postproducci n que se presentan a profesionales de la industria cinematogr fica a trav s de sus dos works in progress y proyectos que pueden acogerse a tres convocatorias impulsadas por el Festival. Las convocatorias son la residencia de desarrollo de proyectos Ikusmira Berriak, que ofrece espacio, contexto y tiempo -ocho semanas- a cinco propuestas audiovisuales; el Foro de Coproducci n, iniciativa para proyectos de cine en desarrollo de Europa y Latinoam rica, que ayuda a las productoras a encontrar socios a uno y otro lado del Atl ntico y a potenciar su acceso en el mercado internacional; y Zinemaldia Startup Challenge, un concurso dirigido a nuevas empresas europeas con proyectos tecnol gicos aplicados al sector audiovisual.
Adem s, el Festival organiza Proyecta -una presentaci n de proyectos cinematogr ficos que buscan la coproducci n entre Europa y Latinoam rica- conjuntamente con Ventana Sur, el mercado de cine m s relevante de Am rica Latina, y el Producers Network-March du Film del Festival de Cannes, y colabora en el Foro de Coproducci n de Documentales Lau Haizetara, impulsado por IBAIA (Asociaci n de Productores Audiovisuales del Pa s Vasco).
Por ltimo, el Festival quiere subrayar su car cter como lugar de encuentro y transmisi n del conocimiento a trav s de Pensamiento y debate, un paraguas que agrupa actividades que promueven el di logo sobre el cine desde la perspectiva industrial, creativa y formativa y programas que generan oportunidades de acuerdos y negocio para creadores, productores y distribuidores. En este mbito figuran desde las clases magistrales de Nest, los Encuentros Zinemaldia y los Desayunos Horizontes, abiertas a los acreditados y tambi n al p blico, hasta las actividades dirigidas espec ficamente a los profesionales de la industria cinematogr fica y los medios de comunicaci n especializados como las conversaciones sobre temas relevantes para el sector, las presentaciones de Zinemaldia & Technology, los encuentros de programadores de festivales o los debates sobre el fen meno de las series.
El rea de pensamiento y debate en torno al cine tiene su desarrollo durante todo el a o en la El as Querejeta Zine Eskola, promovida por la Diputaci n Foral de Gipuzkoa, donde el Festival, junto a Tabakalera y a la Filmoteca Vasca, ha conceptualizado un centro de pensamiento, investigaci n, pr ctica experimental e innovaci n pedag gica en torno al pasado, presente y futuro del cine. Uno de los frutos de la colaboraci n con EQZE es el proyecto de investigaci n Zinemaldia 70. Todas las historias posibles, que tiene el prop sito de generar un archivo vivo que propicie la reflexi n y la discusi n sobre el pasado, el presente y el futuro del Festival a trav s de los fondos documentales (cartas, fotograf a, cr ticas y rese as publicadas en peri dicos y revistas, libros ) conservados desde 1953.
