NAB 2026: kronehit Awards Lawo and SLG Broadcast Contract for Full Studio Modernization

Austrian private broadcaster kronehit publicly awarded SLG Broadcast AG and Lawo AG the contract for the modernization of its entire studio infrastructure at NAB Show 2026. The agreement was confirmed at a meeting at the Lawo booth between Marc Straehl, CEO of SLG Broadcast, Jamie Dunn, CEO of Lawo, and Martin Holovlasky, CTO of kronehit.

Under the agreement, all kronehit studios will be equipped with Lawo diamond audio mixing consoles. SLG Broadcast will oversee system design, configuration, and project implementation. The deployment will include five Lawo diamond consoles paired with five Power Core audio engines. The existing Lawo A__UHD Core will be expanded into a fully redundant configuration serving as the central audio production backbone.

The partnership between kronehit and SLG Broadcast dates to 2015, when SLG Broadcast implemented the technical infrastructure of kronehit's broadcast center using Lawo sapphire mixing consoles. Subsequent phases included a 2017 OB van deployment with a Lawo sapphire Compact, studio I/O expansion, and Power Core-based audio enhancements. Between 2018 and 2024, multiple migration phases supported the transition to IP-based audio production, including integration of the Lawo A__UHD Core, deployment of a RAVENNA-based audio-over-IP network, and studio telephony migration to IP.

kronehit's current Lawo environment includes sapphire consoles, IP-based routing, centralized system management via VisTool, and an AoIP network. The Lawo diamond platform features a fully IP-native architecture and low latency for parallel radio production workflows. SLG Broadcast's in-house SLG Broadcast Suite software complements the Lawo ecosystem for monitoring and analysis.
