Nippon Television Network Corporation Selects TVUPack Cellular Uplink Solutions to Expand Global Live ENG Capabilities
Leading Japanese Broadcaster Deploys TVUPack 3G/4G/LTE Transmission Solutions in Tokyo, London, New York, Seoul, Beijing and Bangkok Bureaus
(Mountain View, CA - January 14, 2014) - TVU Networks,the global technology leader in live mobile electronic newsgathering (ENG) solutions today announced that Nippon Television Network Corporation has deployed TVUPack 3G/4G/LTE ENG solutions in its regional bureaus around the globe to expand its ability to deliver live coverage of important breaking news and events around the world.
As Japans first private broadcast organization, Nippon Television has a longstanding reputation for utilizing innovative technologies to enhance its broadcast capabilities. In order to expand its ability to deliver relevant coverage of important global reaching stories, Nippon Television has deployed TVUPack transmitters in its bureaus in New York, Los Angeles, London, Seoul, Beijing, and Bangkok. The broadcaster has plans to deploy additional TVUPack units at its remaining global bureaus in the near future.

Nippon Television has used the TVUPack extensively to deliver live coverage of important breaking news in several countries, including presidential elections in Seoul, South Korea, the Asiana airline crash at San Francisco International Airport, the birth of the royal baby in London, the Trans-Pacific Partnership ministerial meetings in Singapore and the International Olympic Committee meeting in Argentina that selected Tokyo as the host of the 2020 summer games.
TVUPack has become an integral part of our live broadcast strategy. We plan to use the solution extensively in the coming months. For instance, TVUPack will be an important part of our broadcast strategy at the upcoming Sochi winter games, as it enables us to deliver more creative and exciting live transmissions from each of the venues, said Yazawa.
