Cinegy complies with AS-11 file delivery support
On Tuesday 27th November, the Cinegy team attended the UK DPP workshop hosted by Channel 4.
One of the two purposes of the workshop was to understand what the UK business goals and challenges are for file-based delivery for broadcast play-out, and how progress in the pilot rollout of these processes has impacted workflows. The other purpose was for vendors to generate, exchange and consume these new AS-11 MXF files and verify that this material worked as expected and to review the all-important file metadata that lets the DPP project reach for its goals of simplified and automated delivery workflows.
The event provided Cinegy with a great opportunity to test the mettle of Cinegy's capture, broadcast player and automation products and to continue to ensure that Cinegy's support for open, industry standards like AS-11 is worn as a badge of pride.
Cinegy's generated OP1a files met the expected standards and using the DPP metadata tool could be transformed into a valid UK DPP AS-11 file ready for delivery to play-out. Demonstrating a complete lifecycle, both Cinegy Player and Cinegy Air were able to inspect, validate and playback not just Cinegy originated AS-11 files but all other correct AS-11 files that were provided by 3rd parties.
