Carpool Karaoke, empez como una secci n del late night show de James Corden pero ha tenido tanto xito que Apple ha adquirido los derechos del espacio para convertirlo en su primer programa de televisi n. El nuevo programa, del que es coproductor el presentador brit nico, est empleando la tecnolog a de AJA en su producci n.
Jason D Liquori, copropietario de la empresa de alquiler C-Mount Industries y experimentado productor y director de foto, est colaborando estrechamente con la productora del nuevo espacio, Fullwell 73, para desarrollar Carpool Karaoke 4 k.
Carpool Karaoke se grab originalmente en alta definici n usando c maras GoPro con formatos de entre 5 y 10 minutos. La primera tarea de Liquori fue replicar ese flujo de trabajo para la entrega 4K y extender el formato a media hora. Para ello, es necesario contar con material grabado en 4K durante sesiones de rodaje de hasta cinco horas. La transici n a 4K ha requerido c maras con sensor 4K y grabadoras resistentes. El equipo deb a soportar, adem s, trabajar durante un tiempo prolongado, soportar terrenos accidentados y altas temperaturas, y capturar el contenido en ProRes XQ a SSD para una entrega r pida al equipo de postproducci n. Despu s de investigar una serie de grabadores 4K, Jason D Liquori seleccion el grabador y reproductor Ki Pro Ultra Plus (KPUP) de AJA capaz de capturar 4K/UltraHD/2K/HD.
Ki Pro Ultra Plus respond a a mis objetivos: una fuente de alimentaci n de CA/CC, grabaci n de doble ranura, rollover autom tico, gran robustez para trabajar en la carretera incluso a alt simas temperaturas en el maletero del coche. Prob muchas otras grabadoras ProRes de 4K de gran capacidad, pero no pudieron seguir consiguieron grabar 26 TB al d a. Cada c mara emite una se al 4K 6G a doce multiplexores 4K SDI que dividen cada se al en cuatro para la entrada a 12 unidades Ki Pro Ultra Plus alojadas en un bastidor personalizado de 18 pulgadas en la parte posterior del autom vil principal. Las se ales se registran en ProRes XQ en 4K 29.97 sobre AJA Pak SSD media. Cada KPUP se conecta en red a trav s de CAT5 para la grabaci n y tiene su propio master para la grabaci n simult nea de inicio / parada. Los KPUP tambi n barajan la conversi n de las se ales a 1080p para reproducci n a monitores HD-SDI de 17 pulgadas montados con receptores inal mbricos en dos veh culos adicionales. Los monitores proporcionan una vista previa de la imagen en la pantalla, el c digo de tiempo y la l nea de estado de VTR. Una vez finalizado el rodaje, las unidades AJA Pak se entregan al supervisor de edici n del programa con lectores de medios AJA Pak Dock que se pueden conectar mediante USB3 o Thunderbolt a los ordenadores.
La compacta fuente de alimentaci n CC XLR de Ki Pro Ultra Plus tambi n ha permitido al equipo de producci n llevar a cabo el trabajo sin requerir convertidores adicionales o poniendo en peligro la fuente de alimentaci n del autom vil. Con menos tiempo dedicado a solucionar los cuellos de botella en la tecnolog a y m s tiempo recorriendo la ciudad, pudimos centrarnos en hacer el mejor trabajo , destaca Jason D Liquori.
A lo largo de la producci n, Liquori encontr que el soporte de AJA era accesible y til. El equipo de soporte de AJA fue m s all de lo que ser a su deber ya que est n muy experimentados en sus productos y c mo se integran con otras herramientas. Cuando encontramos problemas con nuestras c maras o multiplexores, recreaban el escenario en su oficina y proporcionaban sugerencias para la resoluci n de problemas , concluye Liquori.
