"We have over 140 guest rooms altogether, and during the Spring Festival holiday, the rooms are almost fully ordered, especially the first and the last days, there are no more than 20 rooms available now." said Chen Yan, Manager of Hengyuan Hotel of the Dongqian Lake Resort, on the afternoon of February 5. According to the ordering record, the majority of the guests have purchased the hot spring-related products of the hotel. That is to say, the hot spring progams have been a major factor for the popularity of the hotel.
"The guests will ask about the availability of such facilities as the tennis court, the swimming pool, the fitness center and the sauna when making their reservations." said Yu Chunhang, Chief Marketing Officer of the Sheraton Ningbo Hotel. The reservation of the second and third days of the first lunar month has reached 70% of the total, and according to the reservation habits, the amount will increase in the following days. Other high-end hotels in Ningbo, including the Ninghai Forest Hot Spring Hotel, the Yangming Hot Spring Villa of Yuyao County and the Westin Ningbo Hotel, are also the popular hotels during the Spring Festival holiday.
"As to the type and source of the guests, most of them are in the family forms from the neighboring cities." said Chen yan. According to Yu Chunhang, besides some guests from other major domestic cities, most of the guests are from such neighboring cities as Shanghai, Hangzhou and Wenzhou. "Most of them have made a two-day reservation, and during the day time they can go to such tourist resorts as the Little Putuo of Dongqian Lake, the Xuedou Mountain of Xikou Resort, and the Romon Universal City." said Yu.
According to the information of Ningbo Tourism Bureau, during the Spring Festival holiday of 2015, all the tourist resorts in Ningbo received 2.9803 million visitors and achieved a total tourist income of 2.171 billion yuan, up by 5.4% and 5.0% respectively over the same period of 2014. The average reservation rate of the star-level hotels in Ningbo reached 50% and some high-end hotels in some districts or counties even achieved over 60%. "We are not so busy on the first and last days of the holiday, as most of the tourists tend to start their holidays from the Spring Festival day and spend their Spring Festival Eve at home. This is because that it is a tradition for the Chinese people to celebrate the Spring Festival Eve at home with family members." According to some personnel from the Tourism Bureau, with the development of the new customs for celebrating the Spring Festival, an increasing number of people have chosen to start their holiday from the Spring Festival Eve.
