FESCIMED will promote a reflection on the democratic memory in film The 1st Edition of FESCIMED (by democratic memory International Film Festival) will be held between November 30 and December 2 at the Cineteca of Matadero, Madrid.

Among the 30 November and 2 December next, will take place in the Cineteca Matadero Madrid, from seven in the afternoon, the I Edition of the Festival of international cinema by democratic memory. Fescimeddirected by the actor and writer Carlos Olalla and driven by the Art Association and memory, a cultural association formed in Madrid at the beginning of year non-profit that presides over the actress and Director Amparo Climent, aims to promote and disseminate culture based on democratic values, memory and human rights among the young. This will also become a travelling festival that will tour Spain with his projections.

"We want to be a benchmark, since there is no such festival, not only by playing the theme of democratic memory, but also by the quality of short films," Climent said.

After an arduous selection process, since 250 works were presented from 32 different countries, are finally a total of 11 short films that will be part of the official section, which will take place from Thursday, November 30 and December 1, Friday.

In the words of the director of the Festival, Carlos Olalla, "cinema is a very powerful tool for young people closer to the story. The artists role is not only to entertain, and Fescimed shaft is precisely this, to reflect and generate dialogue about history and memory through the film."

El Jurado estar compuesto por cuatro profesionales del cine: Esther Garc a, productora y presidenta del jurado; Pepe Viyuela, actor; Nathalie Sese a, actriz; y Benito Zambrano, director.

Esther Garc a ha comentado que ver las obras ha sido volver a abrir heridas que todos llevamos dentro hasta que esto no se repare. Pero el arte es sanador .
