56% of Spaniards already have access to 100 Meg broadband El informe Cobertura de Banda Ancha en Espa a 2014 , elaborado por el Ministerio de Industria, Energ a y Turismo analiza el aumento de la cobertura de banda ancha en Espa a tanto en redes 4G como en fibra.
El Ministerio de Industria, Energ a y Turismo, a trav s de la Secretar a de Estado de Telecomunicaciones y para la Sociedad de la Informaci n (SETSI), ha publicado la tercera edici n del informe Cobertura de Banda Ancha en Espa a' que corresponde al primer trimestre de 2014.
El estudio destaca que en la actualidad el 82% de la poblaci n tiene acceso a Internet de 10 megas y que la cobertura de Internet a velocidad de 30 megas es de un 60%.
Otro dato significativo que recoge el informe es que actualmente el 56% de los espa oles tienen acceso a banda ancha de 100 megas, lo que supone un aumento del 4% respecto al primer semestre de 2013 gracias al crecimiento de la fibra ptica.
Las prestaciones de la banda ancha m vil se han visto mejoradas con la introducci n del 4G, que comenz a desplegarse al final del primer semestre de 2013 y cuyo nivel de cobertura ha alcanzado al 48% de la poblaci n.
Adicionalmente, se ha realizado un an lisis de la cobertura de banda ancha en el entorno rural, encontr ndose que la cobertura de Internet a velocidad de 10 megas es de un 70%, a velocidad de 30 megas es de un 24 %, y que la cobertura de banda ancha m vil 3,5G alcanza al 95% de la poblaci n en entorno rural.
Objective of the Digital Agenda and the Telecommunications Act
Este informe es una de las medidas que est n contenidas en el Plan de telecomunicaciones y redes ultrarr pidas de la Agenda Digital para Espa a aprobado en junio de 2013, que sit a el despliegue de las infraestructuras de acceso de banda ancha ultrarr pida como uno de los principales objetivos pol ticos y estrat gicos de la presente d cada, en l nea con lo realizado tanto por la Uni n Europea como por la mayor a de pa ses de la OCDE.
Entre los objetivos que se establece la Agenda Digital figura el de conseguir que para el a o 2020 todas las personas puedan disponer de servicios de acceso a Internet con velocidades por encima de los 30 megas y que el 50% de los hogares est n abonados a conexiones capaces de ofrecer velocidades por encima de los 100 megas.
Por su parte, la Ley 9/2014, de 9 de mayo, General de Telecomunicaciones, incorpora en su disposici n adicional decimoctava, el objetivo de lograr la universalizaci n del acceso a Internet a 10 Mbps en 2017. Esta misma disposici n contempla la elaboraci n de un informe de cobertura de banda ancha ultrarr pida que permita conocer de forma precisa la situaci n de provisi n de los servicios de comunicaciones electr nicas de banda ancha y que permita identificar aquellas zonas donde existan brechas de mercado.

Los mapas de cobertura permiten realizar una evaluaci n peri dica de las actuaciones y de su enfoque hacia el horizonte 2020 y, en su caso, adecuar las medidas en funci n de los resultados que se vayan derivando de su aplicaci n.
A partir de los datos recopilados a principios de 2014 de los operadores de las mayores redes de banda ancha entre las 61.667 entidades singulares de poblaci n existentes en Espa a y de la metodolog a desarrollada por la SETSI, se han podido obtener las coberturas combinadas de todos los operadores, por plataforma tecnol gica y por conjunto de plataformas tecnol gicas, para cualquier mbito territorial.
