Skeem Saam' dethrones Generations', second show in SABRCSA reveals SABC1's soapie Skeem Saam' has dethroned Generations: The Legacy' as the second most- watched show after Uzalo'.

The latest figures from the Television Audience Measurement (TAM) by the Broadcasting Research Council of South Africa (BRCSA) reveal that SABC1's soapie Skeem Saam is the second most-watched soapie with 4.3 million followed by Generations: The Legacy.

SKEEM SAAM' TAKES SECOND PLACE The SABC1 show Uzalo remains the most-watched soapie in South Africa with 5 million viewership followed by Skeem Saam and Generations; The Legacy with 4.19 million.

The April viewing figures by TVSA also reveal that e.tv's Scandal! has taken third position with 4.18 million viewership followed by House of Zwide with 3.5 million while e.tv's cancelled telenovela Imbewu ended the show with 2.2 million in April.

SABC2's long-running soapie Muvhango has 1.3 million viewership, followed by, SABC2's Afrikaans soapie 7de Laan with 922k viewership, and Mzansi Magic's cancelled telenovela Gomora is sitting on 863k.

GENERATIONS': LATEST STORYLINE AND CAST Generations: The Legacy and Morula Pictures recently bid farewell to fan-favourite actor Musa Ngema who played the role of Mazwi Moroka for nine years.

Sunday World reports that the show in a statement confirmed his departure and said his contract came to an end in March this year.

Over the years Musa has been given many story challenges that have allowed him to showcase his talent as an actor. He has done a fantastic job of portraying the character, and we are grateful for his dedication and commitment to the role and we thank him for his contribution and wish him well, reads the statement.

Ngema's character got killed in April after Zimoja reported that he was shown the door for being dramatic and difficult to work with on set.

The talented star joined the show in 2014 after the show got a revamp when 16 principal actors were axed from the show.

The SABC1 soapie also introduced two new actors 7de Laan actor Nicholas Nkuna, who made his debut on Wednesday, 8 March as journalist Anathi Mpofu, and actor Ben Kgosimore, who plays Kabisi Moroka's son Paul Moroka Jnr.
