Broadcast Industry Executive Joan Mir to Lead TVU Networks Efforts in Spain

New Barcelona Office to Offer Local Service, Support and Serve Broadcasters in SDI to IP-based Transition

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA - February 6, 2016 - TVU Networks has named satellite and broadcast industry executive Joan Mir to head the company's new Barcelona, Spain office. As Director of Sales for Spain, Mir will be in charge of business development, growing the company's global rental program for Spanish ENG customers, and further strengthening relationships with the country's broadcasters, corporate, education, and security video industry professionals. Another part of his role will include communication with TVU's key partners at integration firms, content delivery networks, mobile network operators, and media networks.

Previously, Mir was Business Development Manager at Quantis Global, an IP satellite service provider. He has combined more than 20 years of experience in sales and marketing of satellite services, GPS, and mobile communications services.

Joan has long-standing and deep business connections with the top satellite, telecommunications, and broadcast networks as well as sports organizations and equipment vendors in Spain, said Paul Shen, CEO, TVU Networks. Mir has worked on both sides of the broadcast industry - most recently with satellite DSNG equipment providers and previously with network operators such as Telefonica Moviles, Orange and SES-ASTRA. During his time working with broadcast satellite suppliers, key customers included Spanish TV stations RTVE, TV3 and sports organizations producing major live events such as TITAN DESERT 2016, La Vuelta a Espa a 2015 and 2016.

Mir believes that TVU can make a significant impact on live productions in Spain and cross over into new markets looking for high-quality video delivery over IP.
