The Girls in the Back is the story of five 30-year-olds, close friends since school, who organize a one-week getaway together every year without exception. This year, something has come up that will force them to invent new rules of the game: One of them has been diagnosed with cancer. There are trips that change your life forever. There are lives that travel changes forever.
Based on his own original idea, Daniel S nchez Ar valo (Dark Blue Almost Black, Seventeen) has written and directed this new series that will premiere on September 23rd. Produced for Netflix by At pica Films, this fiction has 6 episodes and has been filmed in several locations throughout Cadiz and Madrid.
The Girls at the Backs main cast is headed by Itsaso Arana (Reyes de la noche, The August Virgin), M nica Miranda (Everybody Knows, I Can Quit Whenever I Want), Mar a Rodr guez Soto (The Days To Come, Com si fos ahir), Mariona Ter s (Veneno, Paquita Salas) and Godeliv Van den Brandt (Valeria, Sky Rojo).
Special guest stars include Javier Rey (HACHE, Cocaine Coast), Macarena Garc a (Para so, The Ministry Of Time), Michelle Jenner (Heirs to the Land, Isabel), Carmen Machi (Criminal, Mother's Love), Antonio de la Torre (The Endless Trench, Marshland) and Melina Matthews (La Peste, Warrior Nun).
About At pica Films
At pica Films (La Peste, Seventeen, Marshland, Smoke & Mirrors, Cousins, Unit 7) is an independent audiovisual production company founded by Jos Antonio F lez and Cristina Sutherland in 2009. A few years ago, Alberto F lez joined the project and assumed the role of producer and executive producer in At picas latest productions. Recently, they have co-produced Modelo 77, Alberto Rodr guezs latest film and are working on La chica de nieve, a series for Netflix based on the bestseller with the same name by Javier Castillo. To date, their productions accumulate 150 national awards, including 26 Goya Awards and more than 75 international awards. Their goal is to make innovative, high quality content that appeals to a wide audience.
